Job description

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Mental Health Associate to join our Partial Hospitalization team. This part time role will work 64 hours within a two week pay period on days (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM).

Purpose of this position: Under the clinical supervision of a mental health professional, a mental health associate provides direct psychiatric treatment for persons living with mental illnesses, evaluates care and programming, provides individual, family, and group psychotherapy, and develops programming as needed

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides individual, family, and group psychotherapy
  • Leads multidisciplinary care team rounds
  • Provides mental health services including initial and ongoing screeners, assessments, diagnosis, treatment plans (and treatment plan updates), psychoeducation, treatment, crisis services, referrals, and termination
  • Completes necessary documentation for accurate and timely billing for client services
  • Provides psychoeducation to patient, families, referents, and community organizations
  • Provides care coordination including discharge planning
  • Provides on-call phone coverage for patient coaching
  • May act as a preceptor to interns and students
  • Assists in maintaining standards for clinic accreditation by health management organizations and state licensure/certification
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Post Master's graduate in Behavioral Health field, obtaining supervision hours for complete independent licensure as LICSW, LMFT, or LPCC

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in providing individual, family, and group psychotherapy, working with persons living with mental illnesses, and chemical dependency experience is highly desired
  • LGSW, LPC, or LAMFT

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Ability to provide psychotherapy to patients and families; ability to recognize and document patient progress
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other members of the multidisciplinary clinical team
  • Ability to interact with individuals of widely diverse lifestyles including ability to deal objectively with individuals whose attitudes and behaviors differ from his/her own
  • Ability to read and interpret written instructions, patient charts, and physicians' notes
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures in an advisory capacity (educate)
  • Ability to use computer systems, including electronic medical records, along with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, etc.)
