The Director will drive alignment across senior leaders, influence strategic investment decisions, and ensure complex initiatives deliver measurable customer and business outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines deep program leadership expertise with strong domain knowledge in digital commerce, payments, subscription businesses, marketplaces, checkout experiences, fraud prevention, taxation, and financial operations. They must be capable of operating at both strategic and execution levels, translating business objectives into scalable delivery plans while ensuring disciplined program execution.

What You'll DoStrategic Portfolio Leadership
  • Lead a portfolio of complex, high-visibility initiatives supporting PlayStation's commerce and monetization ecosystem.
  • Partner with executive leaders to define strategic objectives, roadmaps, priorities, success metrics, and investment plans.
  • Drive alignment across global organizations and mission groups with competing priorities and dependencies.
  • Establish operating models and governance frameworks that enable informed decision-making, accountability, and effective risk management.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership on portfolio health, execution strategy, organizational readiness, capacity planning, and investment decisions.
Commerce & Payments Transformation
  • Lead programs related to digital commerce, checkout modernization, payment processing, payment orchestration, subscriptions, entitlements, taxation, fraud prevention, and financial platform capabilities.
  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering leaders to evaluate business opportunities and develop scalable execution strategies.
  • Ensure business, operational, regulatory, compliance, and customer experience requirements are incorporated into planning and delivery.
  • Drive initiatives that improve conversion, payment success rates, operational efficiency, platform scalability, compliance readiness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Guide modernization efforts across the end-to-end commerce ecosystem, including customer acquisition, checkout, payment authorization, fraud controls, subscription lifecycle management, settlement processes, taxation, and post-purchase customer experiences.
Portfolio Execution & Benefits Realization
  • Establish and maintain portfolio-level planning, dependency management, reporting, forecasting, and executive communications.
  • Identify delivery risks, resource constraints, and execution challenges early and drive mitigation plans.
  • Oversee complex cross-organizational dependencies across multiple teams, business units, and external partners.
  • Facilitate executive reviews, planning cadences, governance forums, and portfolio decision-making processes.
  • Define and track outcome-based KPIs, benefits realization plans, and success metrics that demonstrate measurable business value.
Organizational Leadership
  • Build and lead a program management organization focused on execution excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the professional development and growth of program managers and senior program leaders.
  • Build strong partnerships with senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Tax, Operations, and Commercial organizations.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, clarity, transparency, operational excellence, and customer focus.
  • Influence execution across organizations without direct authority while maintaining strong stakeholder alignment.
QualificationsRequired
  • Significant experience leading large-scale technology programs, portfolios, or product delivery organizations.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional programs involving multiple engineering, product, and business organizations.
  • Demonstrated success operating within large, matrixed global organizations.
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and organizational influence skills.
  • Experience establishing governance models, portfolio management processes, operating rhythms, and executive reporting frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a track record of translating ambiguity into actionable plans.
  • Experience leading mission-critical platforms, large-scale transactional systems, digital commerce ecosystems, or marketplace businesses serving millions of customers.
Commerce & Payments Experience

Deep experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • E-commerce platforms
  • Digital payments
  • Payment processing and orchestration
  • Checkout experiences
  • Subscription businesses
  • Digital marketplaces
  • Billing systems
  • Fraud prevention and payments risk management
  • Financial operations platforms
  • Tax and regulatory compliance

Additional requirements:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with payment providers, commerce platform architects, finance leaders, compliance stakeholders, and senior product leaders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end digital commerce ecosystems, including revenue flows, customer transactions, payment authorization, fraud controls, taxation, settlements, and subscription lifecycle management.
  • Experience leading programs involving payment modernization, commerce transformation, financial platform capabilities, or large-scale customer transaction systems.
Preferred
  • Experience within consumer technology, gaming, media, subscription, marketplace, commerce, payments, or fintech environments.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or related certifications are a plus.

The successful candidate will:

  • Operate comfortably at executive and implementation levels.
  • Drive alignment across organizations without direct authority.
  • Balance strategic thinking with disciplined execution.
  • Create clarity in complex and ambiguous environments.
  • Build organizational capability and strengthen program management practices.
  • Focus teams on customer and business outcomes rather than activity-based metrics.
  • Raise risks early and drive accountability through resolution.
  • Build trusted partnerships across technical and business functions.
  • Influence strategic priorities while ensuring operational excellence in execution.
Additional Information

We recognize that candidates may develop relevant skills and experience through a variety of professional backgrounds and career paths. Applicants who meet many, but not all, of the listed qualifications are encouraged to apply.
