Job description

POSITION TITLE: Truck Driver Heavy Construction Equipment (lowboy)

DEPARTMENT: Equipment & Yard

LOCATION: Niagara Falls, New York

SALARY RANGE: $20 to $35 per hour

JOB NUMBER: 2026-6140-01

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Nationally recognized environmental remediation contractor located in Niagara Falls, New York, is looking for a full time lowboy Truck Driver to drive heavy loads throughout the East Coast to the Mid-West. Travel is mainly Monday through Friday, will be home most weekends.

The daily work will include:

  • Will be responsible for lowboy truck operations transporting heavy construction equipment to numerous job sites located throughout the United States
  • Understanding the safe operation of each type of equipment driven
  • Perform all required DOT vehicle inspections to include pre and post trip safety inspections and report any issues
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork
  • Ensure all cargo is properly secured
  • Track and document equipment moves
  • Maintain eligibility to drive under DOT regulations
  • Understand all applicable permits that are required and work within the permit parameters
  • Practice safe driving and accident prevention
  • Immediately report all incidents/accidents and participate and cooperate with all accident investigations
  • Attend all safety and training meetings
  • Keep equipment clean and in good working condition

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2-5 years’ work experience driving and loading a 40+ ton rig; examples of equipment to be moved are: excavators, bulldozers, and wheel loaders, many of the over width and overweight variety
  • Experience in heavy hauling with a lowboy
  • Must possess a clean and valid Class A CDL license with any applicable endorsements
  • Must meet all DOT requirements to include pre-employment drug and alcohol examination
  • Must be able to demonstrate experience with lowboy operation--heavy equipment loading and unloading
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

An employee’s salary is based on commensurate experience and other qualifications. Extensive company-provided benefit package includes medical, dental, prescription, 401k plan, profit sharing, and pension plan.
