Make an immediate impact on an exciting and rapidly growing Workplace Technology team thatโ€™s at the leading edge of audio-visual solutions, structured cabling, and communications platforms. Provide leadership to our field technicians, warehouse staff, and project management efforts while driving efficiency and developing processes that improve Hyphnโ€™s customer experience.Duties & Responsibilities:Develop accurate low voltage estimates for structured cabling (CommScope and Panduit certified solutions), security and access control (Verkada), sound masking, and related systemsPerform detailed material and cable takeoffs from architectural, MEP, and low voltage construction drawingsBuild bills of materials and develop accurate labor estimates, accounting for site conditions, pathway readiness, and project sequencingOn design-build pursuits, translate client intent and basis-of-design into a defensible scope, clearly documenting assumptions, exclusions, and clarifications to protect margin and reduce scope gapsCommunicate directly with distributors and manufacturer representatives to confirm product availability, lead times, and current pricing, and to secure project registrations and discountsVisit customer sites and attend pre-construction and walkthrough meetings during the specification and estimating phase as neededCoordinate with the Engineering Manager and design/field teams to verify design feasibility and constructability before quotes are releasedLead detailed project handoffs once a quote is approved, informing project management and engineering of scope, assumptions, and specificationsMaintain estimating templates, labor units, and historical cost data to continuouslyimprove quoting accuracyJob Specifications/Qualifications:Experience estimating low voltage projects (structured cabling, security/access control, and/or audio visual) is highly desirableWorking knowledge of structured cabling systems and standards, ideally aligned toCommScope and/or Panduit certified solutionsFamiliarity with IP-based security and access control platforms (Verkada preferred) is a plusAdvanced ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents, including the low voltage divisions (Division 27 Communications and Division 28 Electronic Safety and Security)Strong understanding of BICSI and ANSI/TIA standards, NEC, and local code requirements as they relate to low voltage installationsAdvanced ability to foresee project challenges and produce accurate estimates of labor time and material costExperience with D-Tools or comparable estimating/quoting software is preferredExperience with BlueBeam Revu or other PDF takeoff/markup software is preferredDrafting or CAD background (AutoCAD or similar) is a strong plus for reviewing and redlining design intentExperience installing, project managing, or drafting low voltage systems that informs how specifications and quoting impact a project is highly desirableStrong math, organizational, and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detailStrong interpersonal skills with excellent oral and written communicationAbility to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressureBasic computer skills using the Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)Must maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving recordEducation:High school diploma required, some college preferred, related college degree and/or job specific experience strongly preferredPhysical Demands:Basic lifting of items under 50 lbs, kneeling, standing for long periods, and working in different environmental conditions will be requiredWork Environment:Hyphn Operations Center, Design Studio, and various job sites as required.
