Job description

Low Voltage/Data Technician - Travel Project

Project Duration: September - December

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday | 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Travel: 100% nationwide travel required

Seeking experienced Low Voltage/Data Technicians to support the installation and commissioning of network-based access control systems. Technicians will work alongside an Electrician as part of a two-person installation team.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test CAT5e/CAT6 cabling.
  • Perform RJ45 terminations, cable certification, and network connectivity testing.
  • Install and connect door controllers, NFC tap points, and other access control devices.
  • Label, dress, and organize structured cabling.
  • Assist with controller commissioning, system verification, and troubleshooting.
  • Read and interpret floor plans, wiring diagrams, and project documentation.
  • Maintain installation quality standards and documentation.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Structured cabling and low-voltage installation experience.
  • Proficient with CAT5e/CAT6 terminations and testing.
  • Experience with access control systems preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.

Project Scope

  • Network door controllers, NFC readers, and power supply equipment.
  • CAT5e/CAT6 cabling, RJ45 terminations, and low-voltage device connections.
  • Installation support within conduit, junction box, and pull box infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Available for 12-hour day shifts, Sunday through Thursday.
  • Able to travel for the duration of the project.
  • Reliable transportation and basic hand tools.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work from ladders and lifts as needed.

This is an excellent opportunity for technicians with strong structured cabling experience who enjoy travel and large-scale access control deployments.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $33.00/hr.
