Job Description
This Lead Java Developer will work onsite at PHEAA for their Document Intake Project that Clientsystems is owning. This is slated as a 14 week project at a minimum. During the first 3-4 weeks of the project ramp up, Clientsystems Architects will know estimates for duration of project. They will work with the Clientsystems development team and with PHEAA's imaging, database, and Filenet teams. They will receive guidance from our Technical Architect. This Lead Developer will be helping to lead the software development team in estimating, planning, designing, and coding software applications.
Required Skills:
• 9+ years of experience in an Object Oriented analysis, design, development, and integration of software products, which should include leading development teams strong experience of Continuous Integration, ideally Bamboo (Jenkins acceptable)
• Proven knowledge of Java 8+
• Proven knowledge of RDBMS and NoSql databases (MongoDB)
• Strong knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Strong knowledge of Open Source Platforms such as Spring, Hibernate and Maven
• Proven knowledge of Web services (SOAP/REST), Message Queues (Active MQ/Kafka), JMS & ESB
• Knowledge of image processing, storage and routing
• Knowledge of Atlassian suite of products such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Crucible
• Good knowledge of JavaScript frameworks
• Knowledge of SAS Reports
• Experience in leading the software development team in estimating, planning, designing, and coding software applications
• Ability to provide technical mentorship to project team members and supervise the subordinate staff on the team

The Clientsystems team will supplement the PHEAA-led development team, leveraging the existing PHEAA governance and project plan to provide new services (enhancements, features, etc.). Clientsystems team will develop, test, and implement application services and functionality as defined and prioritized by PHEAA. Activities performed by the Clientsystems team following PHEAA leadership will include:
• Requirements understanding and validation
• Development and testing
• Assistance in production deployment of code artifacts
• Creation of technical documentation and knowledge transfer
TEKsystems will provide team oversight and management, including technical guidance and clarity for the development team based on inputs from PHEAA's project and product leadership. PHEAA will be responsible for the overall direction of team work priorities, including the project plan and prioritization within the development and release cycles.
TEKsystems will leverage the existing PHEAA governance, architecture, IT Development Pipeline, and project plan to provide new services (e.g. enhancements, features, etc.). Our team will develop and test service functionality as defined and prioritized by PHEAA. Activities performed by the Clientsystems team will include:
• Create services and integrations that enable Document Intake to accept/gather content
• Create services and integrations that connect with existing business applications and work management queues
• Create a view of high-level steps for Document Intake, as to monitor the process
