Software Systems Engineer

Full Time Indirect Catoosa, OK, US

POSITION SUMMARY

Designs, develops, and implements systems-level software and hardware solutions that support engineering, manufacturing, and business processes. Provides systems support through software integration, automation, database development, documentation, training, and ongoing system maintenance to improve operational efficiency and companywide automation.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
  • Design, program, and implement software, hardware, computer, and network solutions for specific intra-company and inter-departmental processes (such as WebRate and Calqlys).
  • Integrate software with engineering systems including ERP, CAD, PLM, and document control platforms.
  • Automate engineering calculations, workflows, and reporting processes.
  • Conduct needs assessments for software solutions and perform database modeling.
  • Develop applications using Visual C++, Visual Basic, SQL, and related programming technologies. Python and iLogic experience are beneficial.
  • Engineer software solutions utilizing program flowcharts, function diagrams, UML, XML, and other software engineering tools to ensure proper program flow.
  • Design embedded and network systems to maintain departmental and companywide cohesion while improving automation.
  • Create technical documentation and maintain detailed records of software and hardware designs.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to software users and manage change control and tracking databases.
  • Regularly back up software developments in SourceSafe or other Kelvion-approved secure storage locations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with employees, customers, vendors, managers, executive leadership, and the public.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on-site and collaborate effectively with others in the department.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including data security, change control, and approved storage protocols.
  • Knowledge of software development, systems engineering, database modeling, and automation solutions.
  • Proficiency in Visual C++, Visual Basic, and SQL; Python and iLogic experience preferred.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation and system design records.
  • Experience integrating software solutions with ERP, CAD, PLM, and document control systems.
  • Ability to analyze complex business and engineering requirements and develop effective technical solutions.
  • Strong communication, training, troubleshooting, and end-user support skills.
  • Ability to apply logical and scientific thinking to complex technical and practical problems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with software development, system integration, engineering applications, and database technologies.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical documents and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively present technical concepts, recommendations, and solutions to management and stakeholders.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS
  • Must be able to obtain a passport.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a major credit card for business travel and car rental purposes.
  • Participation in industry-related organizations and software development groups is a plus.
MATHEMATICAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
  • Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and theorem proofs.
