Job description
OUR STORY
SummerCollab co-creates youth programs that energize kids to love learning, play wildly and believe in the power of their unique talents. We envision a world filled with imaginative, confident young people who believe in their unique talents, intelligence and unlimited possibility. Our signature programs, Tyler's Camp, Literacy Corps and CollabClub, provide new experiences and rich activities designed to narrow learning gaps in low income communities. We focus on cultivating self-worth, self-discovery, and meaningful human connection. Through these programs, kids learn to be vulnerable, persistent and curious while exploring new experiences. A side effect of this work is improved confidence, academic engagement and performance.
YOUR ROLE
AmeriCorps LitCorps Reading Buddies Corps Members are the drivers of our year-round social emotional support and literacy program. As an AmeriCorps LitCorps Reading Buddy, you will guide students to becoming confident, capable readers through providing small group reading sessions and social-emotional learning lessons at a community-based or school-based summer camp program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and facilitate small group literacy lessons with students using our Reading Buddies curriculum
- Plan and facilitate small group social emotional learning lessons with students using HarmonySEL

- Serve a minimum of 300 service hours (including off-site service, training, and fundraising) during the Summer of 2026.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
SummerCollab seeks positive, passionate people with the desire to motivate youth to learn and grow. Previous experience working with children is preferred. The ideal candidate has a growth mindset, a strong belief in student-centered learning, and the drive to help program participants become excited about learning!
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT
