To thrive as a Loves Fuel Driver, you need a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with tanker and hazardous materials endorsements, a solid driving record, and experience in safe truck operation. Familiarity with electronic logs (ELDs), fuel delivery systems, and DOT safety regulations is critical for daily responsibilities. Strong attention to detail, customer service skills, and the ability to work independently are valuable soft skills in this role. These capabilities ensure safe, timely fuel deliveries and uphold both safety standards and customer satisfaction.
Loves Fuel Drivers often work set shifts that may include nights, weekends, or early mornings to ensure fuel delivery at all hours. Schedules can vary depending on location and company needs, but routes are generally local or regional, allowing drivers to return home daily. Drivers should be prepared for some variability during peak demand periods or inclement weather. Working closely with dispatchers and Loves team members, drivers play a key role in maintaining steady fuel supply for customers and store locations.
A Love’s Fuel Driver is responsible for safely transporting fuel to Love’s Travel Stops and customer locations. They ensure timely and accurate fuel deliveries while complying with all safety regulations and company policies. Drivers typically operate tanker trucks, conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, and maintain accurate logs. This role requires a CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements, as well as a strong focus on safety and customer service.
