The Hotel Zamora, a beautiful boutique hotel located in St. Pete Beach, FL is seeking a Server. The Hotel Zamora is under new ownership and management with Sherman Associates, an accomplished and proven real estate development and management company. Our commitment to people and our vision for the future, combined with our history of success spanning decades, makes Sherman Associates who we are today. With stunning views overlooking the Intercoastal Waterway and Gulf of Mexico, the Hotel Zamora provides a luxurious retreat for its guests. Besides relaxing in the beautifully appointed guest rooms, our guests experience intuitive service in our Rooftop Lounge, Sidewalk Restaurant, Private Dining, and Meeting/Banquet space.

This position plays a major role in the hotel's Food & Beverage experience. The Spirit to Serve is a key element in a positive customer experience. A server must be friendly, courteous, professional, and demonstrate strong communication skills. Must be able to manage multiple priorities, think/act quickly and effectively while maintaining self-composure.

Schedule: We are currently seeking part-time and/or full-time morning availability to include both evenings and weekends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Serves multiple tables, as determined by management
  • Understands Room Service, Club Lounge, Banquet and Restaurant's food and beverage menu
  • Takes and fills customer orders
  • Upsells alcohol and food items
  • Uses the computer to ring orders and guest checks
  • Interacts with all guests in a friendly/fast manner
  • Accepts different types of payments and makes accurate change
  • Maintains specific side-work and ensures the cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant
  • Quickly clears and resets tables
  • Checks identification of guests to ensure legal age to consume alcoholic beverages. Refuses to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age
  • If consuming alcoholic beverages, observes guest's behavior, counts number of drinks served, and if the server feels they should not drive, offers
  • Knows when to escalate situations for management intervention
  • Completes other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous hotel/hospitality or related service industry experience is strongly preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environment
  • Must be able to pass required Alcohol service training
  • A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates
