Jorgensen Conveyors is seeking a motivated and detail-focused Staff Accountant to support our finance team with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and data analysis. In this role, you'll collaborate with business leaders to turn numbers into insights and contribute to special projects that drive our growth.

Jorgensen Conveyor and Filtration Solutions 

Jorgensen Conveyor and Filtration Solutions specializes in conveyor manufacturing for the machine tool market and beyond. Since 1950, Jorgensen established itself in the market as a leading supplier of hinged belt conveyors, chip conveyors and scrap conveyors. Serving as a complete solutions provider, Jorgensen offers integrated chip processing and coolant filtration systems as well as standalone equipment components. Our customers include the OEM machine builders, importers of machines built outside the U.S., distributors and end users in metal working manufacturing.


Position Description:

The Staff Accountant will work closely with finance and business management to deliver reporting and analytical support. This role provides financial reporting and analysis of operational expenses while enhancing the clarity of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting. It also involves collaborating with the Finance department, senior leaders, to support budgeting, forecasting, and various projects and analyses, enabling the organization's rapid growth.


Essential Functions:

Assist with business on monthly/year-end close processes including:

       Recording various period-end journal entries

       Various general-ledger account reconciliations

       Provide support to company AR and AP roles and processes

       Prepare various monthly financial reports, including financial and cashflow forecasts

       Other financial variance and trend analysis 

Participate in preparation and evaluation of company budget/profit plans

Identify trends in financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement

Participate in various system implementations that are taking place throughout the organization


Other Duties

Analyze current and past financial and operational data and performance

Review shop floor data including department overhead/burden rates 

Coordinate with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts

Demonstrate ethical responsibility, personal accountability, and responsibility for the integrity and reliability of data, modeling, and reporting 

Lead and/or provide expertise to ad hoc projects and analysis as required; ROI modeling, etc.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 2+ years of related experience 

       Experience in a manufacturing environment or cost accounting preferred

CPA certification preferred

Curious and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and a creative problem-solving approach 

Ability to develop a strong understanding of internal data sources, including accessing, analyzing, and addressing specific questions with relevant data 

Works well independently or team environments; demonstrated team player with positive attitude 

Advanced computer proficiency, especially in Excel and financial management systems 

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 

Ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines and priorities
