Dealers throughout the world utilize NPA for acquisition of wholesale vehicles and to ensure their pre-owned inventory meets their customer's demands.
Job Description and Requirements for:
RV, Marine, and Specialty Vehicle Service Writer/Service Technician
Summary of responsibilities:
Service Writer: This person is responsible for reviewing and recommending RV, Marine, and Specialty Vehicle related service work.
Service Technician: This person is responsible for performing all recommended repairs.
This job description can be all inclusive as 1 person's responsibility depending on repair volume. You are responsible for doing this safely and responsibly. You may be required to work overtime with same-day notice depending on work volume.
This position reports directly to the RV, Marine, and Specialty Vehicle Department Lead
Basic Employee responsibilities:
  • Arrive to work on time per your required work schedule
  • Always be courteous and respectful to fellow employees and customers
  • Company equipment must be used for company purposes only
  • Company vehicles must be operated safely and within their intended purpose
  • Dress appropriately to your particular job duties and within the parameters of our current employee manual, (No open toed shoes)
  • Always pick up after yourself
  • Keep your work area neat and clean
  • Always ask questions if you are unsure
  • Always check in and out with your direct supervisors at the beginning and end of your daily shift
  • All guidelines outlined within the Copart Employee Handbook are expected to be adhered to

Job specific responsibilities:
  • Have a good working knowledge of computers, tablets, and Microsoft software
  • Have a good working knowledge of RV, Marine, and Specialty Vehicle related vehicles and their mechanical operation
  • Diagnose issues and give recommendations per established Recon Policies
  • NPA will supply necessary diagnostic and specific electronic and hand tools as needed.
  • Schedule service work for testers/technicians, and ensure its timely completion
  • Monitor tester/technician work results and work habits to provide feedback to RVM Lead
  • Perform compression tests, water system tests, and winterization services on all units that require these
  • Maintain parts and chemical inventories on request
  • Maintain part cage organization
  • Locate and move, via forklift or other means, all RV, Marine, and Specialty Vehicle units to the proper staging or work area to continue processing units for auction
  • Detail recommendations in service/repair order within AMS established Recon Policies
  • Replace batteries as necessary in all unit types
  • Assist with auction lineup placement of units when needed
  • You must be able to, and will be required to maneuver and operate a forklift with expertise, using it to move all RVM unit types around main and offsite lots
  • You must be able to lift 75 lbs.
  • You must be able to push a rolling 900lb motorcycle with relative ease
  • Must not be sensitive to chemicals, cleaners and fuel fumes
  • Follow vehicle safety protocols
  • Responsible for all company equipment and tools associated with recon and service
  • Report any misuse of company tools and equipment
  • Report any violations of company and safety guidelines as discussed in periodic meetings
  • Help unload/load vehicles as needed
  • Assist with check-in/check out process of units when necessary
  • Assist with prepping vehicles for preview and auction day
  • Assist with closing up vehicles after auction is completed
  • Provide any other team function requested by management that is deemed necessary to meet company and facility production and quality goals
