Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Lot Porter plays a vital support role across both the Sales and Service departments. This position is responsible for the safe movement, organization, and cleanliness of all vehicles on the dealership lot. The Lot Porter ensures a professional and welcoming environment for customers while supporting the daily operational needs of both teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General / Lot Operations
  • Move, park, and organize vehicles throughout the dealership lot in a safe and orderly manner
  • Maintain the lot in a clean, professional, and visually appealing condition at all times
  • Retrieve and deliver vehicles as directed by Sales and Service staff
  • Ensure keys are properly tagged, logged, and returned to designated key storage
  • Report any damage, hazards, or issues observed on vehicles or the lot to management
  • Assist with vehicle delivery preparation including washing, fueling, and staging

Sales Department Support
  • Stage and display new and pre-owned inventory according to lot standards
  • Prepare vehicles for customer test drives and deliveries
  • Transport vehicles to and from off-site locations as needed (auctions, reconditioning, etc.)
  • Assist Sales team with vehicle presentation and lot organization during promotions or events

Service Department Support
  • Pull up customer vehicles for service advisors and check-in staff
  • Move vehicles through the service lane as directed by Service Advisors and Technicians
  • Return completed vehicles to designated pickup areas, ensuring a clean and presentable condition
  • Perform basic vehicle washes for service department as required
  • Assist with shuttle duties or loaner vehicle staging when needed

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record - REQUIRED
  • Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles
  • Professional appearance and positive, customer-friendly attitude
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions
  • Prior automotive or dealership experience preferred but not required
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and a strong team player

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and sitting throughout the workday
  • Ability to drive and maneuver vehicles in tight spaces
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
