Job Description

Provides expertise and leadership direction for Gulfstream Goodwill's Loss Prevention program; through successful execution of asset protection education programs has primary responsibility for reducing all types of loss throughout Gulfstream Goodwill's territory; responsible for supporting compliance to the Company's workplace safety programs; and contribute to the mission of Gulfstream Goodwill by performing surveillance and investigations to reduce losses and ensure protection of Gulfstream Goodwill's assets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develops, implements, and manages security awareness programs that contribute to the prevention and reduction of fraudulent losses while promoting team member safety and security.
2. Initiates investigations based upon the analysis of loss trends, internal reports and input from other informational sources. Analyzes and investigates inventory shrinkages; determine causes, and actively participate in initiatives to resolve and correct issues. Has overall responsibility for reviewing video footage and report related evidence on internal and external cases. Conducts internal and external investigations, suspect interviews and keeps confidential reports. Ensures accurate and timely reporting on all activities, observations, and incidents and ensures accurate record keeping and evidence retention.
3. Monitors and maintains location cameras as well as assist with surveillances. Ensures proper operation, maintenance, and repair of alarm and surveillance systems. Monitors location opening and closing alarm reports to ensure proper building procedures are being followed.
4. Identifies employee behavior and operational issues that contribute to theft and partners with appropriate personnel in theft reduction. Reports security vulnerabilities and safety hazards observed while on assignment at any agency facilities.
5. Consults and coordinate efforts with Human Resources, District and Store Managers, other Goodwill departments, vendors, customers and donors as required.
6. Interacts with law enforcement, and other security agencies in a positive and professional manner.
7. Acts as an Agency representative during court proceedings.
8. Leads civil restitution recovery. 9. Collects security analyses for all locations. Conducts safety and security audits and surveys to detect areas of vulnerability or violations of company policies and procedures
10. Weekly review of exception / void reports.
11. Respond to after-hour alarm calls.
12. Perform any range of special projects associated with Loss Prevention and Safety.

2. Perform or assist with any duties or operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements.
3. Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules, keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.
4. Participate in any variety of meetings and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field and a minimum of three years' experience in loss prevention and/or asset protection in retail, industrial or commercial security environments.
2. Loss Prevention Certified (LPC) designation preferred
3. Wicklander - Zulawski Certification preferred to assert authority in preventing the loss of Goodwill property and protecting evidence.
4. Experience with various surveillance equipment including video surveillance equipment, digital recorders, digital cameras, Loss Prevention computer software and other related equipment as provided.
5. Competency in conducting investigations, including analyzing data, accurately observing and documenting incidents and events.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, in the English language.
7. Ability to interact in a positive manner with various people in diverse situations.
8. Ability to work independently, exhibit strong assessment/analytical skills, good judgment, problem-solving skills and flexibility, including working evenings and weekends.
9. Must have a valid Florida driver's license, reliable transportation and the ability to be insured under the company's vehicle insurance policy as well as solid geographical knowledge of Gulfstream Goodwill Industries' five-county area.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. General office environment; subject to external conditions occasionally
2. Frequent travel
3. Frequent walking, standing, stretching and bending
4. Occasional climbing, lifting, pulling and pushing up to 25 pounds
