Responsibilities
  • Act as a technical partner for all engineering tasks in the EHS department related to PSM duties.
  • Support the Pasadena and Dayton sites with all PSM legal requirements and provide a risk‑based decision approach.
  • Lead and participate in PSM incident investigations to identify root causes, contributing factors and prepare corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering and operations to ensure the reliability of critical assets and prevent degradation of mitigation barriers.
  • Champion continuous improvement in operations and risk management.
  • Lead, conduct and train site personnel in Process Hazard Analysis (quantitative and semi‑quantitative techniques) and certify that studies are up to date and recommendations implemented.
  • Ensure local practices are aligned with corporate PSM standards.
  • Participate in and support the Management of Change Program, including MOC applicability, evaluation, hazard reviews, pre‑startup safety reviews, auditing and MOC training.
  • Coordinate and support the execution of PHAs and other hazard assessments to identify process hazards.
  • Facilitate LOPA to assess hazards and potential mitigations.
  • Oversee the progression of PHA/LOPA/FSS recommendations, ensuring appropriate planning and execution.
  • Support the development and progress of Process Safety related capital projects and facilitate hazard reviews for these projects.
  • Identify and mitigate potential LOPC hazards of existing and new processes (general hazards and reactive scenarios).
  • Assist with updates and revisions to OSHA PSM and EPA RMP for U.S. sites.
  • Implement improvements to process safety procedures and programs, and support related training.
  • Maintain compliance with Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1910.119 (PSM) and 40 CFR 68 (RMP) and support sites during regulatory inspections and third‑party audits.
  • Participate in internal audit teams, provide recommendations, and maintain a high level of understanding of PSM laws and regulations.
  • Communicate process safety KPIs and ensure compliance with MOC procedures and Bypass Forms, contributing to increased process safety maturity.
  • Ensure execution of Indovinya PSM standards at the Pasadena and Dayton sites.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Five (5) or more years of Process Safety Management experience, including Process Hazard Analysis and LOPA; or three (3) or more years in plant operations or engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Internet, e‑mail and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience with PHA software such as PHA‑Pro is preferred.
  • Knowledge of application and compliance requirements of regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Familiarity with industry standards and recommended practices (API, NFPA, ASME, etc.).
  • Ability to plan, delegate and organize tasks to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to facilitate and control a multi‑disciplined, cross‑functional team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communication across organizational layers.
  • Knowledge of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and risk assessment techniques (HAZOP, What‑If, LOPA) and basic Safety Integrity Level (SIL) identification.
  • Ability to apply and interpret standards and procedures to various situations.
