Job description

Welcome to Campspot! Whether you are an avid camper, the occasional glamper, an expert RV-er, or new to the outdoors entirely, we're interested in working with you. Our team values diverse perspectives as we seek to create an easy-to-navigate and meaningful camping experience for everyone.
We hope you will consider joining our team! ALL human beings are welcome, and we are committed to helping you thrive here. We believe our team, as well as the outdoors, is for everyone.
We are looking for a Manager, Business Analytics to join our Finance team, reporting directly to the VP of Finance. In this role, you will be the person who makes sure the right people have the right data at the right time - owning our reporting infrastructure, building and maintaining dashboards, and fielding the ad hoc data requests that help our teams make faster, better decisions.
You'll work closely with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Go-to-Market to understand what they need to see, build the tools and reports that surface it, and dig into the numbers when a question doesn't have an obvious answer. This is a great fit for someone who takes pride in clean, trustworthy reporting, and who genuinely enjoys the puzzle of a good ad hoc request.
Key Responsibilities:
Dashboards & Reporting
  • Own the build, maintenance, and continuous improvement of dashboards and reports in Looker that give Finance, Operations, and GTM teams clear, reliable visibility into business performance
  • Work with stakeholders to define KPIs and reporting requirements, ensuring everyone is working from the same definitions and the same source of truth
  • Audit and improve existing reports for accuracy, usability, and relevance-retiring what's no longer useful and building what's missing
  • Document reporting logic and data definitions so institutional knowledge is accessible across the team

Ad Hoc Data Requests
  • Serve as a primary resource for ad hoc analysis requests from Finance, Operations, and GTM stakeholders-turning ambiguous questions into clear, well-supported answers
  • Prioritize and manage an ongoing queue of data requests, setting expectations clearly and delivering quality work on reasonable timelines
  • Build reusable templates and frameworks in Excel and Google Sheets for recurring analyses so the wheel doesn't get reinvented every time
  • Dig into data to surface trends, flag anomalies, and identify opportunities or issues before they become bigger problems

Requirements & Process
  • Partner with Finance stakeholders to document requirements for reporting changes, new dashboards, or data initiatives
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Data teams to ensure the underlying data infrastructure supports the reporting needs of the business
  • Map current-state workflows and identify gaps or bottlenecks-then help develop practical solutions that improve how we operate
  • Contribute to building a culture of data-informed decision-making across Finance, Operations, and GTM

Qualifications:
  • 4-6 years of experience in a business analytics, data analytics, or business analyst role
  • Proven track record building and owning dashboards and reporting infrastructure, not just consuming them
  • Strong experience with Looker or a similar BI tool - you know how to build LookML explores, create reliable reports, and make dashboards people actually use
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and financial modeling
  • Comfortable managing a high-volume queue of ad hoc requests while keeping up with longer-horizon reporting work
  • Strong communication skills - you can explain what the data says, what it means, and what to do about it, to audiences who aren't data people
  • A self-starter mentality - on our team, initiative is a must

Nice to Haves:
  • Experience with SQL for querying and data validation
  • Background in SaaS, outdoor hospitality, travel, or marketplace businesses

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Base salary: $95k-120k
  • Competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance options at affordable rates
  • 401(k) plan with employer match
  • Flexible time off - use it as you need it
  • Employee camping credit to encourage getting outdoors and experiencing our product!

We are prioritizing candidates in our hiring hubs of Grand Rapids (MI), Denver (CO), and Chicago (IL) who are interested in regular in-person collaboration. Secondary consideration may be given to candidates who reside in states where we currently have employees outside of our hubs, including MA, NH, NY, NC, OR, TX, UT, VT, VA, and Canada. Candidates located outside of the locations listed previously are not able to be considered at this time.
