Job description

Position: Long-Term Substitute Teacher
Employment Type: Temporary / Long-Term Substitute
Closing Date: Open Until Filled
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Peninsula Catholic High School is seeking qualified and dependable Long-Term Substitute Teachers to provide classroom instruction and continuity during extended teacher absences.

The ideal candidate will be a caring, enthusiastic educator who can create a positive and structured learning environment while supporting the academic, personal, and spiritual development of our students.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide consistent classroom instruction for the duration of the assigned teacher's absence.
  • Implement established curriculum and lesson plans and, when necessary, assist with planning lessons and instructional activities.
  • Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation, responsibility, and academic success.
  • Assess student learning, grade assignments, and maintain accurate academic records as appropriate.
  • Provide students with timely and constructive feedback.
  • Maintain effective classroom management while fostering respect, responsibility, and Christian values.
  • Communicate effectively with school administration, faculty, staff, students, and families.
  • Follow school policies, procedures, schedules, and established classroom expectations.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, school activities, and other responsibilities as needed during the assignment.
  • Work collaboratively with department faculty and administration to ensure continuity of instruction throughout the teacher's absence.
