Supervisor: Director of Mathematics and Science (Audra Ahl)
Minimum Requirements:
Must hold valid NYS Teacher Certification (preference given to concentration in elementary education)
Desired Qualifications:
Must hold valid NYS Teacher Certification (preference given to concentration in elementary education)
Must be current Greece Central School District tenured teacher
Must have rated Effective or Highly Effective on 2025-26 Annual Professional Performance Review
Must be able to work with building administrators, teachers and staff, district office administration, other TOSAs, and community stakeholders
Must have strong background knowledge of the New York State P-12 Science Learning Standards (specifically PK-5th)
Must have strong background knowledge of the New York State Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards (specifically PK-5th)
Must understand and be able to support the New York State Investigations (specifically the Elementary-Level Science)
Must have strong understanding of the science 3 dimensions of learning with phenomenon based instruction
Must understand and be able to support math intervention (specifically PK-5th)
Must be able to lead math and science focused conversations and professional learning
Must be willing to participate in the curriculum review cycle which includes supporting researching, developing, evaluating, and implementing curriculum
Must have solid understanding of culturally responsive education
Must have excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and time management
Position Summary/Responsibilities:
Directly support the needs of math and science instruction for the entire district
Work alongside teachers in the classroom by providing targeted feedback, modeling best practices, and/ or collaborate on improving effective teaching strategies
Organize and provide professional learning for math and science content, instruction, pedagogy, and curriculum
Provide training for New Teacher Induction (both during the summer and school year)
Support the administration of assessments (both locally and state)
This includes facilitating and organizing Regents grading in January and June
Facilitate and support math and science curriculum adoptions with publishers, companies, and BOCES
Lead curriculum development with the goal to create culturally responsive, horizontally and vertically aligned curriculum with comprehensive scope and sequences for the entire school district PreK-12
Keep current with best practices for curriculum, instruction and assessment
Keep current with NYS standards and mandates
Support building goals and evaluations with the intention to seek continuous improvement
Support purchasing, organization, and storage of math and science related materials
Organize and provide professional learning during Superintendent's Conference Day(s)
Coordinate meetings for math and science staff
This includes any district-wide meetings
Work in collaboration with Director of Mathematics and Science to ensure cohesiveness and shared visions
Prepare written and oral presentations as requested by the Director of Mathematics and Science
Execute other tasks as assigned by the Director of Mathematics and Science
May be required to mentor new hires across the district as needed with supervisor approval
May be required to act as a building substitute, cover classes, or long-term substitute if necessary and with supervisor approval
