Red Dot Buildings is seeking an experienced CDL-A Truck Driver to transport structural steel and related materials to jobsites and customer locations. This is primarily a local or regional driving position that allows drivers to be home every night. Weekend work is generally not required unless there is a special project or business need.

What You Will Do

  • Operate semi-trucks, flatbed trailers, hot shot pickups and gooseneck trailers
  • Transport structural steel, pipe and other long or irregularly shaped materials
  • Properly secure loads using chains, binders, straps, edge protection and other securement equipment
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers and loads
  • Monitor load securement throughout each trip and make adjustments when needed
  • Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork and other required documentation
  • Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers and jobsite personnel
  • Follow DOT regulations, cargo-securement requirements and company safety procedures
  • Report equipment concerns, delivery issues or unsafe conditions promptly
Requirements:
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
  • Experience operating semi-trucks and flatbed trailers
  • Experience with hot shot pickups and gooseneck trailers preferred
  • Experience hauling steel, pipe, logs or similar materials strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of load securement and weight distribution
  • Current HazMat endorsement preferred
  • Acceptable driving and safety record
  • Ability to complete the physical duties associated with flatbed work, including climbing, bending and handling securement equipment
  • Dependable, safety-focused and comfortable working independently
