Job Description:
Millennial Software is seeking a cleared UX/UI Designer to join our team. You will work closely with software development teams and clients to design intuitive, effective user experiences for a variety of web-based applications. Our ideal candidate is a UX/UI Designer who can combine strong design fundamentals with user research and empathy to understand customer needs, develop thoughtful solutions, and guide designs from initial concepts through implementation.


You will have the opportunity to work across a range of projects, from developing new application designs based on user research to refining and improving existing interfaces. This role will collaborate closely with engineers, customers, and other technical team members to ensure the final product effectively addresses user needs and project requirements.


Essential Functions:

  • Meet with clients and end-users to understand user needs, identify pain points, document workflows, and gather requirements for new and existing features.
  • Develop and maintain UX/UI designs for web-based applications based on user research, customer feedback, and project requirements.
  • Establish and apply appropriate user research methodologies to inform design decisions and improve the overall user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with software development teams throughout the product lifecycle to communicate design decisions and support implementation.
  • Participate in agile development activities, including stand-ups, planning sessions, retrospectives, and feature demonstrations.
  • Facilitate design reviews and critiques while incorporating feedback from clients, users, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate design recommendations and potential changes to product direction based on user feedback and research findings.
  • Support the development and refinement of application interfaces while maintaining consistency across the overall user experience.
  • Stay current on UX/UI design practices, tools, and emerging technologies to support effective and innovative design solutions.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizenย 
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a CI Polygraph
  • Bachelor's Degree in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or related discipline
  • 2+ years of relevant UX/UI design experience
  • Strong design portfolio demonstrating UX/UI experience across a range of projects
  • Knowledge and practical application of Design Thinking principles
  • Recent experience using Figma/FigJam
  • Experience with web-based product design
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, InVision, or Procreate

Nice to have:

  • Experience applying Human-Centered Design methodologies
  • Experience with Graphic Design, Identity, Logo, or Branding
  • Experience mentoring junior staff or interns
  • 5+ years of UX/UI design experience
  • Experience working directly with clients or end-users to conduct user research and gather requirements
  • Experience designing applications in a government or cleared environment
