Sr. UI/UX Designer I
Location: DC Metro Area (Hybrid – 1–2 days/week onsite)
Work Sites: Washington, DC | Herndon, VA | Tysons, VA | Reston, VA

Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI security clearance with a CI Polygraph As Sr. UI/UX Designer I, you’ll lead the visual identity and user interface design for a mission-critical data brokerage solution, establishing the core UI, design system, and brand strategy from the ground up. You'll translate user and business requirements into high-fidelity designs, create a cohesive visual language and reusable UI components, and collaborate closely with the UX Lead, product team, and data engineers to deliver an intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling experience. You'll also develop external marketing and presentation materials that promote the product and drive adoption across the mission community.
You're a great fit for this role if you fearlessly collaborate with clients, users, and cross-functional teams to build exceptional products; have strong expertise in responsive web design, branding, typography, color theory, and modern UI design principles; understand how to create flexible, adaptive digital experiences; are passionate about crafting intuitive and inspiring interfaces; and take ownership of your work while communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. What you’ll do:
• Lead the visual design strategy, brand identity, and overall look and feel of a mission-critical data brokerage solution.
• Design and establish the foundational UI kit and scalable design system that will serve as the product's visual framework.
• Create high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and polished user interfaces that translate complex requirements into intuitive experiences.
• Own the interface and interaction design, ensuring a modern, accessible, and visually compelling user experience.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, developers, and stakeholders in an Agile environment to deliver user-centered solutions.
• Develop and maintain the product's visual language, graphic identity, and reusable design components.
• Produce externally facing marketing and communication materials, including presentations, graphics, and collateral, to promote the solution and drive adoption.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to solve complex client challenges through thoughtful, high-quality visual design.
• Continuously refine and enhance the product's visual experience using user feedback, design best practices, and emerging design trends. What you’ll need to succeed:
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with a CI Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of experience with a strong focus on visual design, branding, and UI design systems.
• Proven experience applying user-centered design principles to establish brand identity, build scalable UI systems, and enhance the visual appeal of digital products.
• Exceptional visual design skills, supported by a portfolio showcasing branding, logo design, typography, color theory, and modern UI design.
• Demonstrated experience building design systems, UI kits, and reusable component libraries from the ground up.
• Strong proficiency in creating high-fidelity UI designs, visual mockups, prototypes, and responsive web experiences.
• Experience designing intuitive information architecture and scalable, user-friendly digital interfaces.
• Ability to transform complex data into clean, compelling data visualizations and dashboard experiences.
• Strong skills in iconography, vector graphics, visual storytelling, and digital brand development.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design tools, including Figma. SALARY RANGE: $166,000 - $202,000
The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including: • The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
• The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
• Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
• This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies, which may include:
