PARC Field Service Technician
Job Summary
The PARC Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation and maintenance of Parking Access and Revenue Control systems. These systems consist of the following:
• Integrated revenue and access control applications
• Automatic vehicle identification
• Online credit card revenue controls
• Intercom systems
• Count monitoring and variable message sign controls
• Local and wide area networking
• Remote access communications
• Custom application integration using programmable logic controllers
• Serial and Ethernet data communications
• SQL and application servers
• Network and communications monitoring applications.
Work Environment Requirements:
• Able to work outdoors in all climates and conditions as needed
• Lift and/or move in excess of 50 lbs on a regular basis and up to 100 lbs on occasion
• At times, this position will require kneeling, bending, and working on ladders
• Work with hand and power tools as needed
• Working knowledge of desktop computers, Windows desktop OS, Windows Server OS, Ethernet networks, TCP/IP communications, Databases (SQL helpful but not necessary), Excel, email, remote communications tools (LogMeIn, WebEx, VNC, etc.)
• Good communication, team orientation and organizational skills.
• Applicant must be able to work independently and with team members, self-motivated, and able to organize and manage time efficiently.
• Maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record
• Occasional overnight trips
• Background check and periodic drug testing
Schedule
Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. As most of our customer have 24-hour operations, our team has a rotating on call service technician schedule. On call responsibilities include telephone support, remote access, and potentially onsite service to resolve emergency customer issues.
Locations:
We are currently looking for qualified technicians in the Columbus, OH area.
Requirements
Working knowledge of desktop computers, Windows desktop O/S, Windows Server O/S, Ethernet networks, TCP/IP communications, Databases (SQL helpful but not necessary), Excel, email, remote communications tools (Logmein, Webex, VNC, etc.)
Good communication, team orientation and organizational skills.
Previous experience in Parking Equipment, Access Control, and IP networks is helpful but not necessary. Experience in supporting a complete system application involving software and hardware, troubleshooting data communications, database maintenance, report generation, programmable logic controllers, etc. would be very helpful.
Applicant must be able to work independently and with team members, self-motivated, and able to organize and manage time efficiently.
Pass a background check and periodic drug testing.
A valid driver's license.
Willingness and aptitude to learn from our current staff, in house and vendors' online training resources.
Work Schedule:
Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. As our customer requires a 24/7 service availability, this position will have "on call" and after hours "call in" responsibilities such as telephone support, remote access and onsite service necessary to resolve any emergency customer issues (compensated).
Occasional overnight trips to attend systems manufacturer's training.
