As a Senior Transportation Analyst, you will be responsible for using analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, implement, manage, and enhance transportation processes. You will lead major projects and/or lead people working towards major objectives and goals. You will be responsible for assembling data, making transportation decisions, identifying problems, and developing solutions which support logistics planning and operations. You will be building internal/external relationships to collaborate on problem solving. You will be using your experience and judgment to devise solutions even when limited information is available and/or deadlines are short. You will do your work independently to be successful with minimal supervision. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that our transportation services meet or exceed customer needs and business objectives.
What you'll do
  • Understand all cost elements of transportation; be able to understand and interpret carrier rate agreements, review freight charges, perform forensic analysis on cost deviations and understand root causes, and work with internal and external stakeholders to implement necessary process improvements
  • Collaborate with Finance, Revenue, Operations, and Planning teams to produce analytical models to develop freight cost forecasts and support Finance with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting
  • Develop freight cost trend analysis, determine areas of improvement, and implement solutions and report on cost reduction initiatives
  • Support carrier negotiations by providing ongoing analytical support, being able to evaluate and compare offers, understand short- and long-term impact of changes, and positively contribute to the negotiation process with relevant insights
  • Design, maintain, and continuously improve our end-to-end Logistics KPIs performance monitoring systems, incl. service levels by product, 3rd party carrier management metrics, logistics cost-efficiency metrics, logistics process-efficiency metrics
  • Design and help build automated tools and dashboards to visualize data sets; monitor ongoing performance of implemented initiatives and processes
  • Ensure data alignment across our systems and partner's platform to drive process improvement by partnering with carriers and internal parties.
  • Develop business cases in support of transportation initiatives
  • Collect, evaluate, analyze, and disseminate data to leadership for decision making
  • Create BRDs (business requirement documents) and FRDs (functional requirement documents) for transportation solution development and implementation with transportation systems.
  • Problem solve for unusual circumstances and exceptions; use sophisticated analytical and problem solving techniques to identify root causes and identify solutions

About you
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant industry experience that includes senior leadership assignments and/or direct people management
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Operations Management, Business, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Proven strategic vision with examples of leveraging existing and emerging technology and transportation services to improve customer experiences and optimize costs
  • Strong knowledge of the transportation industry across all modes of transportation; expertise in eCommerce and small parcel transportation with international cross-border operational models
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing complex projects and/or people
  • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at senior levels and to drive transformational change
  • Ability to interact with all business stakeholders in identifying business needs, building relationships and using influence skills to successfully execute cross-functional projects
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to present findings, make recommendations, and to drive to decisions
  • Ability to multitask and work independently with attention to detail and follow through
  • Proven ability to balance priorities, follow through, and deliver results in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment

Pursuant to the various pay transparency laws/acts, the base salary range is $90,000 to $100,000 annually, plus opportunities for benefits (e.g., medical, dental), equity and discretionary bonuses. Compensation is dependent on geography and may vary.
