Job description

As anAssistant Terminal Manager, you will learn to manage the daily operations of the bus terminal, working cross-functionally to support the overall safety and efficiency of service and operations. A major responsibility of the person in this role is establishing relationships with terminal leadership, schedulers, dispatchers, customer service, and sales teams to promote teamwork and improve efficiency of the transportation operation as a whole. Planning and Dispatch responsibilities are also vital to this position. This person will report to the General Manager and will monitor and provide feedback on dispatch and operations performance. This is a salaried position but may require longer hours from time to time depending on overall work load and staff levels at the terminal.  

Earn an annual salary of $65,000-$80,000 per year. Pay rate commensurate with candidate experience level.

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 10:00am-7:00pm
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends as needed

Role and Responsibilities 

  • Build and develop cross-functional relationships with terminal leadership, planners, schedulers, dispatchers, customer service, and sales teams 
  • Analyze charter bus and shuttle operations schedules and itineraries to ensure adequate resources are in place and in compliance with DOT regulations 
  • Manage execution of action items, coordinate resources, and manage the lines of communication across teams 
  • Manage employee relations 
  • Participate in strategic projects and initiatives 

Qualifications and Education Requirements 

  • Ability to manage in a fast paced, high change environment, while maintaining a positive attitude 
  • Solid internal and external customer service skills 
  • Organized, analytical, and drive for results 
  • Instinct for process improvement 
  • Ability to assess and coordinate logistics plans
  • Adaptable to varying levels of technology 
  • Proficient in Excel 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills 

Preferred Skills 

  • Must have experience as a dispatcher at Academy
  • Knowledge of DOT, FMSCA, and OSHA regulations
