Job description

Swift is a privately held, mission-driven and employee-focused services and solutions company headquartered in Reston, VA. Our capabilities include Software Development, Engineering & IT, Data Science, Cyber Enablement, Logistics, and Training. Founded in 2019, Swift supports Civilian, Defense, and Intelligence Community customers across the country and around the globe. Swift is looking for a Technical Integration Engineer to prepare, configure, secure, integrate, and support mission systems, end-user hardware, and networking infrastructure. This role owns the lifecycle of communication and computing assets from initial configuration and deployment through sustainment and troubleshooting. The engineer will support tactical networking environments, TAK server infrastructure, and end-user systems while ensuring all assets are secure, compliant, and fully operational in support of mission requirements. The work location is in Northern Virginia (the location can be shared during a phone interview). Responsibilities: * Configure, administer, and maintain TAK Server environments and associated ATAK/WinTAK clients.
  • Assemble, configure, test, and deploy Android smartphones, tablets, and laptops (Windows/Mac/Chromebook) according to technical specifications.
  • Install, update, and customize operating systems and mission applications, including security tools and supporting software.
  • Create and apply system images for efficient and repeatable deployment of devices and systems.
  • Enroll and manage devices in Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms to enforce security and configuration policies.
  • Set up, configure, and maintain routers, switches, wireless access points, and related networking equipment, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, IP addressing, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and basic firewall configurations.
  • Configure and support server infrastructure and system services required to enable reliable communications and data sharing.
  • Provide break/fix support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues, including diagnosing and repairing malfunctioning devices and network components.
  • Deliver both on-site and remote support to assist users with device setup, network connectivity, and mission applications.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and asset records, including serial numbers, configuration details, and system documentation.
  • Ensure systems and devices meet security and data protection standards, including encryption, antivirus, secure data handling, and adherence to internal policies.
  • Document configurations, standard procedures, incident history, and service requests to support operational continuity.
  • Support field operations and mission activities requiring rapid deployment and troubleshooting of communication and networking capabilities.
Collaborate with engineers, operators, and mission partners to integrate and sustain technical capabilities. Requirements: 3+ years of experience in systems administration, networking, IT support, technical integration, or related fields (1-5 years acceptable depending on breadth of experience).
  • Experience setting up, configuring, and managing TAK Server environments.
  • Creating and maintaining Zello servers as well as imagery servers.
  • Creating and developing all new and emerging technologies.
  • Strong background in networking and systems management.
  • Solid understanding of core networking principles and technologies, including routers, switches, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and basic firewall concepts.
  • Experience supporting Windows and Android operating systems; familiarity with Linux, iOS, and ChromeOS is a plus.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document work and support end users in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to dynamic mission requirements.
US citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance. Desired Experience: Prior military communications experience, or similar backgrounds.
  • Experience with ATAK, WinTAK, and TAK Server administration.
  • Experience supporting tactical communications systems, SATCOM, HF/VHF/UHF radios, or deployable network infrastructures.
  • Experience with Linux administration and server management.
  • Experience supporting mixed device environments (Windows, Mac, Chromebook, Android, and mobile phones).
  • Experience with inventory management and asset tracking.
  • Experience supporting distributed or remote users, including occasional field deployments and on-site support.
  • CompTIA Network+, Security+, A+, CCNA, or similar technical certifications.
