About the Role
As a Logistics Coordinator at Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, you will coordinate and manage transportation activities to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of products to customers. You will work closely with sales, shipping, production, and carrier partners to support operational efficiency, maintain strong relationships, and ensure customer satisfaction. This role is onsite and located in Wheatland, PA.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate daily outbound and inbound shipments to meet customer delivery expectations.

  • Schedule carrier pickups and delivery appointments to ensure on-time performance.

  • Communicate proactively with sales, shipping, and production teams regarding shipment status and potential service issues.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with approved carrier partners.

  • Monitor freight costs and support efforts to use cost-effective transportation solutions.

  • Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ERP systems, email, and phone communication to manage loads and documentation.

  • Track and resolve shipment discrepancies, delays, or service concerns.

  • Maintain accurate shipment records, freight documentation, and reporting.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction and service enhancements.

  • Provide backup coverage for other logistics team members as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.

Who You Are

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.

  • 2-5 years of logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and ERP systems preferred.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
