Job description

As theFitness Specialistyou will be a qualified Fitness with certifications to teach aerobics classes to include step-aerobics, weight/strength, cardiovascular and circuit training.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in event management inclusive but not exclusive to officiating recreation sporting events, fitness events, reporting participation, announcing rules of engagement, and setup & teardown of event.
  • Assist in creation of fitness calendars and marketing flyers ensuring 120-day calendar planned with fitness events.
  • Perform headcounts and complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service in a friendly manner to all patrons of facility.
  • Manage customer concerns and or complaints providing conflict resolution and timely action on all concerns.
  • Assist in maintaining outside facilities inclusive of ball fields, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and other exterior facilities.
  • Assist in maintaining inside facilities inclusive but not exclusive to trash removal, equipment checks, and overall cleanliness.
  • Must possess an American Red Cross CPR Certificate, an American Red Cross Standard First Aid certificate, or local equivalent certifications (as approved by the ACO), and an Automated External Defibrillator Certification.
  • Excellent social, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of fitness training and exercises.
  • Performs other related duties needed/required to support the mission.
  • Perform other mission required duties inclusive of assisting in Lodging or MWR/Recreational areas as required by Site Manager.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Site Manager.
  • Fitness operations occur 24 hours a day and candidate must be able to work shift as assigned inclusive of either dayshift or nightshift.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED.

LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess an American Red Cross CPR Certificate.
  • American Red Cross Standard First Aid certificate or local equivalent certifications (as approved by the ACO).
  • Automated External Defibrillator Certification.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Preference for candidates to maintain Personal Trainer and Class Instructor certificates by a certifying organization.
  • Preference for candidates to maintain Personal Trainer and Class Instructor certificates by a certifying organization.
  • Preference for candidate to maintain the ability to host fitness classes and instruct members in the strength training principles, training procedures, and exercise techniques.
  • Ensure safe and effective use of training equipment.
  • Maintain training equipment hygiene and safety.
  • Must maintain basic computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to create, modify and utilize spreadsheets with the use of Microsoft Excel.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a Valid U.S. Driver's License and be able to operate a vehicle with a manual transmission.
  • Possess a valid U.S. Passport (preferred)
  • Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements, as outlined in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD SEVENTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for the U.A.E.
  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

SECURITY CLEARANCE:Must have and maintain an U.S. DoD Secret Clearance.
