A Day in the Life
The Analyst II Logistics is responsible for leading the drafting, negotiation, execution, and administration of transportation and logistics contracts and related commercial documentation. This role manages complex transactions, evaluates contractual and operational risks, and drives favorable commercial outcomes. The Analyst II serves as a subject matter expert in transportation, logistics, pricing structures, and market dynamics, leveraging deep industry knowledge to optimize supply chain performance and cost efficiency.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Support the development, negotiation, implementation, and administration of transportation tariffs, contracts, and shipment documentation, ensuring compliance and alignment with business objectives.
  • Assist with railroad tariff rate structures across multiple commodities and business units, identifying risks, opportunities, rate discrepancies, and market impacts to optimize transportation costs and profitability.
  • Assist with transportation, logistics, and supply chain operations, management systems, providing guidance to commercial, merchandising, and trading teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, freight forwarders, government agencies, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders to support domestic and international commodity movements.
  • Analyze transportation and logistics data to identify trends, improve network performance, support decision-making, and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance logistics models, forecasts, and performance metrics to support transportation planning, cost analysis, capacity management, and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor transportation, warehouse, and inventory activities to ensure operational integrity, service performance, and compliance with internal controls and company policies.
  • Maintain logistics databases and reporting systems, ensuring data accuracy, governance, and accessibility for business analysis and performance measurement.
  • Support the resolution of complex customer, carrier, and contractual issues while delivering exceptional service and minimizing operational and commercial risk.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance transportation performance, reduce costs, improve service levels, and support overall supply chain optimization, while providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.

Skills/Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Logistics or related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in transportation, supply chain logistics or related field
  • Go getter mindset beating the required deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates exceptional organizational skills, effectively balancing multiple responsibilities while proactively seeking opportunities to learn and grow.
  • Effective communicator with proven ability to collaborate and engage with individuals at all levels.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
