Job description

MELE is seeking a Logistics Operator to assist the Office of Defense Nuclear Security’s (DNS’s) Security Planning and Technology Division (NA-713) in building out the Automated Centralized Logistics Delivery System (ACLDS). This state-of-the-market, existing automated centralized logistics distribution/financial reporting system has been procured for use by the Chief of DNS and his staff across 9 geographically dispersed sites. The Logistics Operator will assist the NA-713 ACLDS team in gathering, analyzing, warehousing, and populating all necessary material and financial data for the prospective automated system, as well as assisting in acquisition support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conducting on-site inventory reviews
  • Auditing procurement records
  • Analyzing usage data
  • Identifying items for ‘standard’ classification
  • Documenting current inventory management processes at sites (where applicable)
  • Assessing inventory storage and security
  • Participating in data cleansing and standardization of disparate inventory data
  • Supporting population ACLDS implementation
  • Participating in configuration management support and processes
  • Assisting with FAR compliance of existing and prospective agreements
  • Providing market research and vendor communication
  • Gathering and analyzing needs from NNSA site security leads
  • Providing prospective solicitation development
  • Providing financial and cost analysis support
  • Daily interaction with Site security organization leadership.
  • Understanding ACLDS operation and key components thereof.
  • Assisting in the oversight and operation of ACLDS for Site security organization personnel.
  • Understanding both general and unique Site requirements to support the Site security organization’s mission set.
  • Capable of articulating any systems limitations and software issues to the Site, HQ NA-713 ACLDS team, and AWS.
  • Assisting Site security organization personnel in proper logistics planning for the Site’s mission sets.
  • Participating and assisting in working groups regarding standardization and modernization of Defense Nuclear Security equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Q-clearance preferred or existing TS w/ability to achieve Q-clearance.
  • Fluency in their specialty, capable of performing their requisite specialties in a diverse, dynamic, and potentially changing environment
  • Required experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) contract processes
  • Extensive knowledge of military-style data reporting associated with managing military style supply operations or DOE supply operations, such as but not limited to reorder; contract types; inventory stratification and levels management; parts usage data/demand; Parts/systems allowance documents; Parts tracking; budget and financial
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS software platforms (e.g. excel/word/ppt/etc).                   
  • Demonstrated aptitude for assimilation/understanding of new software systems.       
  • Minimum 2 years of logistics support to an organization.
  • Attention to Detail (implicit): Critical for accurate data collection and entry.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to identify patterns, commonalities, and financial implications from complex data sets.
  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to be trained to use, create reports with, and subsequently operate the ACLDS.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to interact effectively with site personnel, the NA-713 team, and attendant contractors.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to address discrepancies, optimize processes, and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Understanding of Logistics and Supply Chain: Understanding of supply chain principles is essential.

LOCATION: This position is on-site in Livermore, CA

SALARY: Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. The salary range for this position is $195-215k.
