Air Logistics Gateway Operations Supervisor

As a member of the Freight Forwarding team Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in transporting goods, optimising processes, and fulfilling our customers' promises. Air Import Gateway Supervisor Leads the day-to-day execution of import export gateway operations, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of freight. Oversees MAWB consolidations and assigned trade lanes across the full ATA process while guiding and developing the team. Requires strong airfreight operational expertise across airlines, GHA, warehousing, and freight forwarding environments. Shift will be Sun-Thur 2pm-10:30pm
How you create impact
  • Oversee and actively manage the work of the area air export gateway staff.
  • Support business process improvement initiatives at the gateway.
  • Comply with and support efforts and processes designed to enhance air cargo security.
  • Support gateway attainment of prescribed company productivity ratios.
  • Support gateway attainment of prescribed key performance indicator measurements including support of the development and training of gateway staff in compliance with company requirements.
  • Communicate with air carrier representatives and contribute to air carrier performance evaluation.
  • Support efforts to obtain and maintain levels of air cargo capacity sufficient to assure timely movement of freight flows through the gateway.
  • Support efforts with air carriers to service needs of Kuehne + Nagel air import departments.
  • Contribute creative ideas and solutions to common challenges.
  • Directly manage four personnel

What we would like you to bring
  • 3+ years of experience in an air operations team lead capacity with demonstrated airfreight industry knowledge.
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); communicates clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend.
  • Pro-active; strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to be profit conscious
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to establish priorities and accomplish multiple tasks
  • Ability to work with demanding deadlines
  • Must be detail oriented, thorough and accurate and have the ability to efficiently solve problems; proven analytical skills
  • Proficient computer skills (solid data entry with high accuracy rate, email, internet, excel, word, etc.)
  • Solid knowledge of export procedures/documentation is a plus
  • Good knowledge of international geography including countries, major cities
  • Ability to work scheduled shift Sunday-Thursday 2pm-10:20pm
