Meet the Recruiter: Amber Smallwood
What You'll Get To Do:
Data is the backbone of the Panasonic Supply Chain, and the PEXNA Logistics Data Analytics team is actively transforming how that data is accessed, trusted, and used to drive real business decisions. The Senior Logistics Analyst is the execution engine of that transformation - building automated pipelines, governing the Power BI intelligence layer, and delivering the high-quality analytical outputs that supply chain, finance, and business-unit leaders rely on to manage performance and make strategic decisions.
This is not a steady-state reporting role. The Senior Analyst will actively drive the elimination of manual processes while building governed, scalable replacements in their place. The role delivers advanced logistics analysis, governed Power BI solutions, automated reporting workflows, and data-quality controls for Logistics Excellence, Logistics Operations, and business-unit stakeholders. The Senior Analyst serves as the primary analytical point of contact for high-priority and ad hoc requests, working with Solution Managers, Operations Managers, business units, Information Technology, and outsourced analytics resources. The role translates business questions into simulation studies and in-depth analysis, coordinates execution and quality review, and ensures outputs are delivered accurately and on the timelines committed to stakeholders.
Power BI & Self-Service Intelligence
  • Design, build, and govern Power BI dashboards and key performance indicator frameworks for inbound, warehouse, outbound, carrier, freight cost, inventory, project savings, and executive reporting - with governed self-service as the primary design objective, not the afterthought.
  • Own the business intelligence product lifecycle - from stakeholder discovery and data modeling through DAX development, user acceptance testing, deployment, documentation, adoption, and ongoing enhancement.
  • Maintain governed semantic models, standardized measures, dataset certification, refresh cadence, workspace controls, access management, and common metric definitions - so every dashboard is trusted, consistent, and scalable across teams.
  • Develop intuitive self-service solutions and enable business users to answer recurring questions independently using trusted, always-current data - reducing request volume, not perpetuating it.
  • Support the Automated Daily Shop Floor and related operational intelligence solutions with Logistics Operations and the Business Intelligence and RPA team.

Logistics Excellence Analytics & Reporting Delivery
  • Serve as the primary analytics point of contact for Logistics Excellence and manage recurring, high-priority, and ad hoc requests from Solution Managers, Operations Managers, and business units - prioritizing by impact and managing throughput using outsourced resources effectively.
  • Lead simulation studies, scenario analysis, root-cause analysis, RFP evaluation, transportation and network cost modeling, and other in-depth analytical work that supports operational and strategic decisions.
  • Own and deliver logistics performance scorecards, monthly business review content, financial and cost-savings reporting, executive presentations, market intelligence, and stakeholder-ready recommendations.
  • Provide logistics market and continuous-improvement analytics - including ocean freight trend analysis, project baselines, savings validation, and reconciliation of results across involved parties.
  • Develop and maintain inbound and outbound transportation rating engines, applying logistics business logic and rate assumptions to benchmark modeled freight costs against actual paid invoices.
  • Coordinate outsourced analytics resources within the end-to-end delivery model - including work assignment, requirement clarification, quality review, issue resolution, standard templates and procedures, and timely submission against stakeholder commitments.

Robotic Process Automation and AI
  • Build, test, deploy, and maintain automated reporting and data-extraction workflows using Power Automate, Alteryx, or equivalent tools across logistics systems, warehouse management systems, carrier portals, and other source systems.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and develop business cases for recurring manual workflows that are candidates for automation - applying a rigorous cost-of-manual-effort lens before committing engineering resources.
  • Use process engineering methodology to document current-state processes before automation - through standard operating procedures, responsibility matrices, control points, and process-flow maps that eliminate reliance on tribal knowledge.
  • Apply Lean principles to simplify and remove non-value-added work before automation is implemented - the goal is to automate a clean process, not to scale a broken one.
  • Build monitoring, exception handling, auditability, recovery procedures, change controls, and measurable performance indicators into all automated workflows from the start.
  • Evaluate emerging AI and machine learning capabilities - including anomaly detection, demand signal analysis, and natural language querying - to identify where intelligent automation can extend beyond rule-based RPA and generate additional analytical value for the business.

Data Quality, Governance & Master Data
  • Serve as the logistics data subject-matter expert with the Information Technology Department - monitor and verify data integrity in Data Warehouse-fed reports, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate timely remediation before issues reach stakeholder reporting.
  • Build and maintain targeted validation controls across key supply-chain data flows so material issues are identified and resolved at the source.
  • Support master-data governance, data ownership definitions, quality thresholds, source-of-truth standards, remediation tracking, and logistics governance or compliance reporting.

Scope
  • Reports to Manager, Data Analytics.
  • No direct reports; provides work coordination, quality oversight, and capability coaching for approximately 3-4 outsourced analytics resources.
  • Supports analysis and reporting associated with the $155M+ annual PEXNA Supply Chain budget.
  • Works cross-functionally with Logistics Operations, Solutions, Procurement, Finance, Information Technology, Sales Division business partners, and third-party service providers.

Qualifications
What You'll Bring:
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Data Analytics, Business, Engineering, or a related field required; master's degree preferred.
  • Three to six years of progressive experience in supply-chain analytics, logistics operations, transportation, or a closely related analytical role.
  • Advanced Power BI experience required - including data modeling, DAX development, Power BI Service administration, dashboard governance, self-service architecture, and report certification.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying production automation required - using UiPath, Power Automate, or an equivalent platform; built and deployed in a real environment, not trained and certified only.
  • Demonstrated experience with simulation studies, scenario analysis, cost modeling, root-cause analysis, or other in-depth supply-chain analytical work.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, warehouse management systems, carrier data, and Data Warehouse reporting; advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
  • Experience coordinating offshore, outsourced, or third-party analytical resources preferred; logistics, freight, or transportation domain experience strongly preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, or active progress toward certification, preferred.

Competencies
  • Intrinsic Drive for Continuous Improvement.
Demonstrated self-motivation and genuine intellectual curiosity in identifying inefficiencies, questioning existing processes, and pursuing better approaches without requiring external direction. A natural orientation toward process improvement as a professional standard, not a assigned objective.
  • Automation-First Mindset with Process Engineering Discipline.
Proven ability to evaluate recurring manual workflows critically, prioritize automation opportunities, and apply structured process engineering methodology - including current-state documentation, waste elimination, and standard operating procedure development - before implementing scalable solutions.
  • Advanced Business Intelligence Governance & Self-Service Design.
Demonstrated ability to design, govern, and sustain enterprise-grade Power BI solutions - including semantic model architecture, DAX development, dataset certification, and self-service enablement - with a consistent focus on data integrity, scalability, and end-user adoption.
  • Independent Execution & Distributed Team Coordination.
Ability to independently manage end-to-end analytical delivery - including prioritization, quality oversight, and stakeholder communication - while providing effective work coordination and capability development for outsourced or offshore analytics resources in a remote, cross-functional environment.
  • Supply Chain Domain Expertise & Cross-Functional Communication.
Strong working knowledge of logistics, freight, and supply chain operations, with the ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for audiences ranging from operational managers to executive leadership.

Communications
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills required.
  • Able to explain analytical findings, assumptions, data limitations, and recommendations clearly to operational managers, business-unit leaders, and executives - adapting the level of detail to the audience.
  • Able to independently manage stakeholder expectations around timing, data limitations, and analytical scope without requiring manager involvement in routine communications.
  • Able to serve as an effective liaison among Panasonic stakeholders, Information Technology, and outsourced service providers across time zones and cultures.

Other Requirements
  • Travel required approximately 10%.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and coordinate distributed teams across time zones.
