What you'll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Transportation Management System: Lead the deployment of a best-in-class Transportation Management System (e.g., SAP TM and/or 4PL integration) to streamline inbound logistics operations. Define comprehensive functional requirements, coordinate cross-functional implementation plans, and ensure seamless synergetic integration with adjacent IT systems to enable end-to-end process visibility and automation. 
  • Inbound Concept Implementation: Architect and implement a holistic, multi-modal inbound transportation strategy encompassing LTL, FTL, small parcel, ocean, and air freight. Drive alignment across departments to support both pre-series and series production phases. Develop lane-specific logistics solutions that optimize cost, service levels, and sustainability across domestic and international supply chains. 
  • Inbound Transportation RFx (RFI, RFP, RFQ) Strategy: Own the end-to-end RFx (RFI, RFP, RFQ) process for inbound transportation services. Align cross-functional stakeholders on timelines, bundling strategies, and sourcing plans. Prepare all necessary documentation, including Statements of Work and pricing templates. Evaluate supplier proposals and support contract negotiations to ensure optimal value and performance. 
  • Service Provider Management: Oversee logistics service providers to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and operational KPIs. Foster strong partnerships and drive accountability through structured performance management. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing transportation flows and performance data. Identify and implement process enhancements that improve efficiency, reduce cost, and ensure regulatory compliance. 
  • Performance Metrics and Reporting: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for inbound logistics. Develop actionable reports and dashboards to monitor performance, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions. 
  • Based on your expertise and evolving business needs, you may be assigned additional tasks within logistics planning beyond those explicitly listed. 

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina.
  • This role requires daily attendance in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 
  • 7+ years of proven automotive OEM experience in inbound logistics planning, preferably within the automotive industry, is necessary 
  • Professional Background with FTL/LTL carriers or brokers is necessary 
  • Hands-on experience in designing and executing multimodal inbound transportation sourcing strategies (FTL, LTL, xD, MSTL, MR), including RFP/RFQ processes and contract development is needed 
  • Deep expertise in defining business requirements, implementing, and managing Transportation Management Systems (e.g., SAP TM or equivalent platforms) is a must-have 
  • Proven track record in logistics service provider selection through competitive sourcing activities, including bid analysis, evaluation, and contract support. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and presentation skills 
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives. Strong communication and presentation skills to influence stakeholders and drive alignment.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $110,000.00 - $135,000.00
