Job description

We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.

About the role

As a Manager, Logistics at Mytra, you will join our Supply Chain team to build and lead the logistics function during a period of rapid growth. Our team is focused on getting Mytra's hardware - from individual components to fully assembled systems - from our global supply base and manufacturing site into the hands of our customers. This role sits at the center of that operation.

The scope covers three key and interconnected material paths: components moving from suppliers to our manufacturing site in Brisbane, CA; completed product moving from Brisbane, CA to customer sites; and structural components moving direct from suppliers to customer sites. Across all three paths, you'll also own the return logistics loop, and spare parts and returnable packaging strategy.

Getting this right - particularly on structural components, where customer site laydown space and construction sequencing are tightly constrained - is operationally critical. Material arriving early, late, or out of sequence is expensive and visible. You'll work closely with our supply chain and deployment teams to keep logistics plans tightly synced with supplier production schedules and site readiness.

You're coming in to build and lead the logistics function at Mytra. You'll develop the team, establish the strategy and processes, and own execution across the full scope from day one.

What you'll do:
  • Build and lead Mytra's logistics function - developing the team, defining the operating model, and owning end-to-end execution across all material paths: supplier to our manufacturing site in Brisbane, CA; Brisbane to customer deployment sites; and supplier direct to customer deployment sites.
  • Own inbound logistics from our global supply base to Brisbane - aligning freight plans with supplier production schedules to ensure components arrive when needed to support product manufacturing, managing carrier relationships, and maintaining visibility across all inbound shipments.
  • Own outbound logistics from Brisbane to customer deployment sites - coordinating the movement of completed systems from our manufacturing site to end customers, managing carriers and 3PLs, and ensuring on-time, undamaged delivery.
  • Manage direct-ship logistics for structural components - coordinating supplier-to-site freight for large steel and structural parts, where delivery sequencing and laydown space at active construction sites must be actively managed.
  • Own the returnable packaging system end-to-end - defining standards, outsourcing design and supply, managing returnable loops for spare parts and components, and ensuring the system scales with deployment volume.
  • Select, onboard, and manage freight forwarders, customs brokers, 3PLs, and domestic carriers - building commercial relationships, setting performance expectations, and holding partners accountable.
  • Own import compliance: customs documentation, HTS classification, country-of-origin requirements, and proactive risk management across Mytra's international supply base.
  • Build visibility and reporting across the logistics network — tracking all material in motion, surfacing risks early, and keeping internal stakeholders reliably informed.
  • Develop logistics tools, systems and processes to ensure efficiency in execution, accountability, and visibility across teams.
Ideal Candidates:
  • Have 5–8 years of experience in international logistics operations - specifically managing supplier-origin freight to manufacturing facilities and/or constrained field deployment environments.
  • Have 1–3 years of experience building and leading logistics teams - coming in with a manager's mindset, not just an operator's.
  • Are experienced owning freight forwarding relationships, customs brokerage, and import/export compliance without relying on a dedicated trade team.
  • Have hands‑on experience selecting, onboarding, and managing 3PL partners from scratch - building the commercial and operational relationship, not inheriting one.
  • Understand the realities of construction site and deployment logistics: sequenced deliveries, laydown space management, and the cost of a shipment arriving at the wrong time or in the wrong order.
  • Have experience owning returnable packaging systems — including outsourcing design and supply, managing return loops, and scaling packaging operations.
  • Solutions focused - success at developing plan B, C and D’s and in fixing logistics issues that have occurred
  • Are disciplined about building process in ambiguous environments — comfortable starting from scratch, and rigorous enough to document and systematize what they build so it scales.
Nice to have:
  • Experience in robotics, warehouse automation, industrial equipment, or other hardware-intensive industries where large, heavy, or structurally complex parts are regularly in motion.
  • Familiarity with TMS or ERP platforms and a track record of implementing or improving logistics visibility tooling.
  • Background in packaging engineering or design for shipping — particularly for metal or fabricated components moving internationally.
A Final Note:

If this role excites you, we encourage you to apply — even if you don't check every box. At Mytra, we build bots, but we hire humans. We value thoughtful challengers who communicate with clarity and respect, and we're lifelong learners committed to getting better every day. We move fast, learn faster, and show up for each other under pressure. The best outcomes come from diverse perspectives working together to build something meaningful and built to last.

Benefits Include:
  • Competitive compensation and equity grants at a high‑growth company backed by top‑tier VCs
  • Fully subsidized health coverage, including medical (baseline plans), dental, and vision for employees and dependents
  • 401(k) plans and employer‑subsidized life insurance
  • Fully subsidized lunch and snacks at HQ—we eat and share stories together at the "long" table
  • Generous PTO and company‑paid holidays, including one week over the winter break so everyone can recharge together
  • Voluntary pet insurance, Voluntary Life Insurance, Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity
  • Fully subsidized tax advisory services and education to help you understand your equity
  • Commuter benefits, including an up-to $150 monthly commuter benefit
  • Lively, modern combined office and lab space where we rapidly iterate through design, build, and test phases
  • Fully equipped onsite gym and showers at headquarters
