Based in Woburn, Massachusetts, our operations support the design, manufacture, and fulfillment of innovative products that help customers solve challenging lighting and optical applications.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to help lead and scale our manufacturing operations in Woburn, Massachusetts.
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this role will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of manufacturing, purchasing, inventory management, shipping, logistics, and operational processes.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, leading teams, and driving operational performance.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting continued growth while helping build the systems and operational discipline required for a scalable manufacturing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Operations:
  • Lead day-to-day production activities and workflow coordination.
  • Manage production schedules and priorities.
  • Monitor labor utilization, productivity, and operational performance.
  • Support manufacturing teams in meeting quality, delivery, and efficiency goals.
  • Drive accountability and communication across the operation.
Purchasing, Materials & Inventory:
  • Oversee purchasing, materials planning, and inventory activities.
  • Ensure material availability to support production schedules.
  • Improve inventory accuracy and inventory control processes.
  • Work with suppliers to improve delivery performance and responsiveness.
  • Support cost reduction and sourcing initiatives.
Shipping & Logistics:
  • Oversee shipping, receiving, warehousing, and fulfillment activities.
  • Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and shipped on time.
  • Improve logistics processes and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor operational metrics and customer service performance.
Process Improvement & Systems:
  • Improve operational workflows and business processes.
  • Support ERP utilization and process discipline.
  • Develop and track operational KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead and develop production and operational personnel.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Support employee development and operational training.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of manufacturing or operations leadership experience.
  • Experience managing production, purchasing, inventory, and logistics functions.
  • Experience working within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and supply chain processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing, EMS, industrial products, lighting, optics, or related industries.
  • Experience leading cross-functional operational teams.
  • Inventory management and planning experience.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
  • Familiarity with product costing and operational performance metrics.
