Job description

Accounting Admin

Title: Accounting Admin

Department: Accounting

Position Status: Full Time

Shift Schedule: M-F 8:30AM-5:00PM

Location: Middle River, MD (In Office)

Exempt Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Organized. Reliable. Detail-driven. Sound like you?

At CDS Logistics, we don't just move products, we keep business moving. We are one of the largest providers of last mile delivery and fulfillment solutions in the United States, completing over 1 million deliveries annually across 180+ hubs. Our operational excellence depends on strong financial processes behind the scenes every day.

We're looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Admin to join our Accounting team in Middle River, MD. This role supports all aspects of daily billing and payments of the final mile logistics operations, including  managing driver documents, issuing invoices, maintaining insurance records, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks.

This is a high-volume, detail-focused support role. It's ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, likes a job with clear rhythms and real deadlines, and wants to build a foundation in accounting inside a fast-moving logistics environment.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Real foundational experience — Build accounting skills through hands-on, daily exposure to how a nationwide logistics operation runs every day.
  • Visibility with leadership — Work directly with the Accounting Manager and see how your daily tasks connect to the bigger financial picture.
  • Structured, predictable workflow — Every day has a clear set of priorities — great for someone who likes knowing what "done" looks like.
  • Stability and growth opportunity — Join a well-established company with a nationwide presence and room to grow within the Accounting function

Work Environment

  • On-site office position
  • High volume of inbound and outbound phone communication
  • Frequent interaction with customers, drivers, operations personnel, and leadership teams
  • Fast-paced logistics environment supporting daily delivery operations

A Quick Snapshot of the Role

  • What You'll Be Responsible For:
  • Reviewing daily driver paperwork to make sure every order is accounted for
  • Entering driver pay data accurately and on time
  • Distributing invoices and pay reports with supporting documentation to customers and delivery partners
  • Uploading invoices and supporting documentation to customer billing portals
  • Copying, sorting, and scanning driver paperwork
  • Processing outgoing checks and packages
  • Maintaining audit-ready, up-to-date contractor insurance certificates
  • Filing check remittances and related paperwork and maintaining organized filing systems
  • Communicating professionally with internal teams and external customers to resolve day-to-day issues

What “Great” Looks Like in This Role

This role is built for someone who takes pride in getting the details right, every time.

  • Highly detail-oriented — You catch discrepancies before they become problems.
  • Organized and dependable — You know how to juggle daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines without dropping the ball.
  • Comfortable talking to people — You communicate clearly and professionally
  • Steady under routine — Repetitive, high-volume tasks don't wear you down — you find a rhythm and stick to it.
  • Works well independently — You can manage and prioritize your own workload but know when to loop in your team or manager.
  • Trustworthy with sensitive information — Ability to handle data with care and confidentiality.

Most importantly, you align with our guiding principles:

  • Put Safety First
  • Respect for Others
  • Treat Customer Orders Like Our Own
  • Deliver Measurable Excellence
  • Pursue Relentless Improvement

 What You Bring (Core Experience)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Comfortable with computers and Microsoft Office software
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas
  • A willingness to learn and pitch in as part of a team

Preferred:

  • Associate's degree, or equivalent years of accounting experience
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience
