Job description

Logistics Manager
Salary Range: $60,000-$85,00/Yr DOE
Position: Full Time - In Office
Location: Orem, UT
About the Role
MITY Inc. is seeking a hands-on Logistics Manager to oversee the movement of materials and finished products throughout our Orem manufacturing operation. This position is responsible for inbound materials, warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, outbound freight, and the day-to-day leadership of the logistics and warehouse team.
This is a working manager position. The Logistics Manager will spend significant time on the warehouse floor, leading by example, resolving problems, and helping ensure production has the materials it needs and customer orders are shipped safely, accurately, on time, and within budget.
What You'll Do
  • Plan and oversee inbound shipments of raw materials and components to support production schedules.
  • Manage finished-goods receiving, put-away, picking, packing, staging, and loading.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse and loading dock.
  • Coordinate with production and scheduling teams to align material flow and shipping timelines.
  • Manage relationships with freight carriers, suppliers, and other logistics partners.
  • Book and negotiate outbound freight, including LTL, FTL, oversized, and specialized shipments.
  • Monitor freight costs and resolve delivery delays, damaged shipments, and freight claims.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, reconciliation, and proper ERP system transactions.
  • Lead, schedule, train, and develop the warehouse and logistics team.
  • Establish clear expectations and work alongside the team when additional support is needed.
  • Track and improve key performance indicators, including on-time shipping, order accuracy, freight costs, inventory accuracy, and dock throughput.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that reduce delays, inventory, waste, and operating costs.
  • Ensure compliance with forklift, loading dock, material-handling, and warehouse safety requirements.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with at least three years of experience in logistics, warehousing, distribution, supply chain, or a related operational role. Experience working in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience leading or supervising employees and will bring a hands-on leadership style. This person should be comfortable working alongside the team, setting clear expectations, and stepping in when additional support is needed.
Candidates should have a working knowledge of LTL and FTL freight, carrier management, and freight-cost control. Experience using ERP, inventory-management, or warehouse-management systems is also important, along with the ability to use spreadsheets and operational data to monitor performance and make informed decisions.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential. The right person will be able to remain calm, decisive, and solutions-focused when priorities change, shipments are delayed, or other operational challenges arise.
Forklift experience or certification is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and an associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field is preferred.
