Position Summary

The Transportation & Logistics Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, compliance, and execution of all fleet and logistics operations supporting the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) tours. This role ensures the safe & efficient movement of equipment, materials, and operational assets across multiple national touring schedules.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Tour Operations, this position oversees fleet operations, regulatory compliance, and logistics coordination, while partnering closely with other members of the Tour Operations, Production, and Risk Management departments. The Manager also supports warehouse operations and budget management, ensuring all transportation, warehousing, and logistics functions operate at a high standard of safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Operations Management

  • Manage daily fleet operations including trucks, trailers, and transportation assets.
  • Oversee driver scheduling, utilization, and performance in alignment with tour needs.
  • Proactively manage fleet maintenance to ensure maximum uptime across all assets.
  • Enforce fleet policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Coordinate routing and dispatch in partnership with Tour Operations to support event timelines.

Regulatory Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations including USDOT, FMCSA, and state/local transportation laws.
  • Maintain complete and compliant driver qualification files, hours-of-service tracking, and vehicle inspection and maintenance records.
  • Manage ELD/telematics systems (e.g., Motive) to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Administer a DOT-compliant Drug & Alcohol testing program, including pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion testing.
  • Support safety initiatives including training, audits, and incident prevention programs.

Fuel Tax & Reporting (IFTA)

  • Manage IFTA fuel tax reporting, filing, and reconciliation processes.
  • Oversee state fuel or weight/mile tax reporting and ensure timely, accurate submissions.

Budget & Cost Control

  • Support development and management of the transportation and logistics budget.
  • Track expenses including fuel, maintenance, insurance, and vendor costs.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.

Risk Management & Insurance Coordination

  • Partner with Risk Management on fleet insurance, claims handling, and incident reporting.
  • Support investigation and documentation of accidents and safety incidents.
  • Implement corrective actions to reduce risk exposure.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate with Tour Operations and Production teams to align transportation plans and third-party freight needs with event schedules.
  • Work with HR on driver compliance, hiring processes, and employee relations.
  • Coordinate with Finance on reporting, audits, and budget tracking.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors including maintenance providers and logistics partners.

Qualifications

  • Experience in transportation, logistics, fleet management, or supply chain operations.
  • Understanding of USDOT, FMCSA, and state/local transportation regulations.
  • Capable of managing a team and coordinating multi-site operations.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting touring operations (sports, entertainment, or live events).
  • Familiarity with IFTA reporting and multi-state fuel or weight-mile tax compliance.
  • Experience with ELD systems (e.g., Motive) and fleet management tools.
  • Background in safety programs and compliance management.
