GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Responsible to help maintain the Service Parts Storage and Velocity Plans and work on any Projects as related to Safety, CIP, WMS (Warehouse Management System) and Warehouse Layout/Design that are assigned by the Projects/Maintenance Supervisor.
Shift Available: Monday-Friday 8:30a-5p
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Level I
  • Facility Maintenance: shelves & racking repairs, conveyors, collision prevention devices, sprinkler leak containment, floor repair/holes, skid loader operation during times of snow removal, dock drains, pressure washing, scissor lift operation, and some other general maintenance
  • Responsible to help maintain cleanliness and 5S standards within the operation and continue to help develop the 5S program
  • Work on project tasks relating to Continuous Improvement, Safety and WMS (Warehouse Management System) assigned by Projects Supervisor
  • Insure accurate movement of physical inventory with use of handheld device / barcode readers
  • Pick & pack (disposal/scrapping) of obsolete inventory lists from Purchasing Team
  • Must be willing to be cross-trained in other areas in the warehouse as needed
  • Must perform within the Company Safety Program and Policies
  • Proper use of PPE at all times

Level II
  • In addition to the responsibilities for level I
  • Assist with project workload planning & timeline
  • Help coach and train receiving binners to properly and safely put away new service parts according to Service Parts Slotting Plan
  • Learn Lean Philosophy within the organization to focus on and participate in Continuous Improvement & Learning to improve processes, efficiencies and increased profitability

Level III
  • In addition to the responsibilities for level I and level II
  • Cross-trained in other areas in the warehouse
  • Responsible for training new team members
  • Fully understand Lean Philosophy within the organization to focus on and participate in Continuous Improvement & Learning to improve processes, efficiencies and increased profitability

EXPERIENCE:
Level I
  • Previous experience in warehouse operations with a focus on lean warehousing
  • Knowledgeable in facility maintenance: repairs, conveyors, collision prevention devices, sprinkler system maintenance
  • Previous experience with a Barcode Scanning System/handheld preferred
  • Forklift Certification strongly preferred (cherry picker, stand up reach truck); must be able to pass the forklift certification test
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as part of the job function while using safe lifting techniques
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Some computer skills and basic math skills needed

Level II
  • +2 years of prior experience in warehouse operations with a focus on lean warehousing
  • Proficient in facility maintenance: repairs, conveyors, collision prevention devices, sprinkler system maintenance
  • Proficient with using a Barcode Scanning System/handheld required
  • Forklift Certification required (cherry picker, stand up reach truck); must be able to pass the forklift certification test
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members
  • Able to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as part of the job function while using safe lifting techniques
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Computer skills and basic math skills required

Level III
  • +5 years of prior experience in warehouse operations with a focus on lean warehousing
  • Expert in facility maintenance: repairs, conveyors, collision prevention devices, sprinkler system maintenance
  • Proficient with using and training new employees with a Barcode Scanning System/handheld
  • Forklift Certification required (cherry picker, stand up reach truck); must be able to pass the forklift certification test
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members
  • Able to work independently without supervision
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as part of the job function while using safe lifting techniques.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Exceptional computer skills and basic math skills required
  • OSHA safety protocols and hazard identification

EDUCATION:
  • Requires a high school education or equivalent

  • Base pay starts at $19.00 per hour plus a potential quarterly bonus based on performance metrics
    • Actual pay determined by experience level, skills, qualifications & work location
  • This position is located onsite in Belvidere, Illinois
