Logistics Engineering Support Liaison - TSUB PMS 396

Position Summary / Objective:

This position supports the In-Service Strategic Submarines Program Office (PMS 396) which is part of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Program Executive Office Submarines (PEO SSBN), and Team Submarine (TSUB) providing engineering, logistics, and project management support to SSGN and SSBN Class Submarines.


Essential functions:

  • Serve as workload partner for ESRS/339 case management within PMS-396.
  • Utilize PowerBi to create clear reports and dashboards to track large datasets, overdue actions, identify trends, and turning raw data into actionable updates to leadership.
  • Navigate various Navy logistics and supply databases such as One Touch, Fed Mall, Haystack, and other tools used to manage equipment and parts.
  • Coordinate with engineers, logistics teams, DLA NAVSUP, and other stakeholders to receive case updates and drive action.

Required education and experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business or technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience.

Preferred education and experience:

  • NAVSEA experience is preferred.
  • Submarine experience is highly desired.
  • Active Secret clearance is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBi, and Outlook software.
  • Expert knowledge of the Federal Supply System. This includes comprehensive knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) concepts, policies, procedures and techniques, and their application to weapon system acquisition, management and sustainment.
  • Working knowledge of various databases utilized in managing equipment and parts including One Touch, Fed Mall, and Haystack is required.
  • Demonstrate ability to be a team player; works well with others; contributes positively to work/team environment while continually seeking ways to enhance contribution to the team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
  • Strong follow up skills and the ability to keep pressure on tasks while maintaining good working relationships are critical.
  • The ideal candidate looks for ways to improve processes, builds tools that increase visibility, flags risks early, and helps reduce backlog.
  • High comfort level working with and around all military/organizational levels, clients, customers, suppliers, and visitors.
  • Must be highly reliable and demonstrate personal initiative to operate in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

The typical workday is eight hours in length, normal hours are 7:30 AM-3:30PM. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. The employee must be available during the โ€œcoreโ€ work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and must account for the hours in a pay period to maintain full-time status.


Telework:

  • This position allows for up to 20% telework. However, that may change based on customer requirements.

Travel:

  • Up to 30% travel may be required to locations including, but not limited to, Washington, DC, Newport, RI; Kings Bay, GA; and Norfolk, VA
