Job description

Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Warehouse Manager to lead and build our warehouse operations from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in a startup-style environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats.
This role is responsible for all warehouse functions including inventory management, shipping/receiving, safety oversight, and cross-department coordination. In addition, this position will be trained in corrugated design and serve as a backup to our Designer.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Warehouse & Inventory Operations
  • Oversee all day-to-day warehouse operations in a single-person environment
  • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently, including operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift)
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and shipments
  • Pick, stage, and prepare outgoing orders
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
  • Perform general warehouse upkeep and maintenance, ensuring equipment and workspace are in good working condition
  • Establish and improve warehouse processes, layout, and workflows
  • Track and maintain accurate inventory levels
  • Coordinate material needs with production and purchasing teams

Safety & Compliance
  • Take ownership of warehouse safety practices and ensure a safe working environment
  • Follow and help enforce company safety policies and procedures
  • Identify potential hazards and proactively address safety concerns
  • Ensure proper use and basic maintenance of warehouse equipment, including forklift operation
Cross-Functional Communication
  • Act as the primary liaison between warehouse, production, and office teams
  • Support scheduling and coordination of inbound/outbound logistics
Design Training & Support
  • Train under the Corrugated Designer to learn basic design concepts and systems
  • Provide backup support for design tasks as needed
  • Collaborate with the design and sales teams on customer needs
  • Demonstrate interest and capability to grow into a design-focused role (optional career path)

Perform all other duties as assigned (should be on all descriptions)
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or technical degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or operations roles
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
  • Experience with inventory systems, ERP systems, or shipping software preferred
  • Prior exposure to corrugated, packaging, or design-related work is a plus but not required
Required Skills / Abilities
  • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of warehouse operations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective problem-solving and process improvement mindset
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across departments
  • Comfort and willingness to operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment
  • Strong awareness of safety practices and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
  • Ability to perform general warehouse maintenance and upkeep tasks
  • Comfortable performing physical work including lifting, loading/unloading, and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness and aptitude to learn corrugated design concepts and systems
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a desire to grow within the organization
Physical & Travel Requirements
  • Regular lifting and movement of materials (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Warehouse environment with varying temperatures
