Logistics Coordinator

The Logistics Coordinator will work in all functional areas of the distribution center. This includes being responsible for executing and validating all audit reports (dock and PGI reporting) for revenue recognition. Coordinate daily shipping target, making necessary adjustments to meet or exceed the target, and all expedite and priority shipping requests. The position requires excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and experience with order fulfillment and customer compliance requirements.The is an entry-level role starting at $19/hr.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of experience Logistics
  • Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • WMS/WCS experience (SAP a plus)

Competencies and Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal (written and verbal) communication skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience with Excel
  • Ability to analyze information and make decisions regarding prioritization and shipping

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the leadership and development of team members
  • Improve picking efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with business and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate responsibilities between fulfillment and shipping team to make sure both teams are meeting their targets, orders are getting processed and inventory is being shipped appropriately.
  • Improve rating and shipping efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with business and customer requirements.
  • Support business goals around carrier usage, cost, etc.
  • Coordinate logistic coordination operations efficiently and effectively. Includes planning workload, and dynamic replenishment release, efficient order allocation, waving, rating, and shipping by following business process and enhancing the overall customer service process.
  • Ensure on time freight processing to ensure high levels of customer service. Manage and report FIFO and order turn time ensuring all SLA's are met, including internal ship turn requirements
  • Coordinate and communicate expedited service (orders requiring expedited service and expedite requests from the business)
  • Communicate short term and long-term labor demands with Distribution Manager and assist with managing labor costs.
  • Manage the bottom line by reducing unnecessary costs.
  • Maintain and communicate customer specifications/requirements.
  • Investigate issues, problem solving, and continuous improvement for all aspects of the job.
  • Cross train in other areas of Logistics and be able to perform other logistics tasks at a reasonable level (including Fulfillment Scheduling, Shipping, Audit, Cycle Count, etc.).
  • Prepare international firearm shipments including all required documents and licensing to ensure compliance with national and international law. Serve as backup for the Transportation Analyst.
  • Monitor, resolve and respond to shipment issues reported
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Identify and report any safety hazards immediately.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to accomplish goals.
  • Follow defined processes and identify opportunities to redefine processes.
  • Provide suggestions and feedback to management.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:

Within any of our facilities, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.
