Job description

Job Family:

Capacity operations professionals manage and optimize the use of resources within an organization. They play a crucial role in ensuring that infrastructure, equipment, and personnel are utilized efficiently to meet demand and maximize productivity. They assess resource availability, identify bottlenecks, and develop capacity plans to meet current and future demand. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to align capacity plans with business objectives and optimize resource allocation.

Job Summary:

The Site Manager – PMX manages on-site carrier capacity and freight operations for both inbound and outbound freight to the facility to ensure timely, cost-effective transportation solutions while supporting customer needs and maintaining safety and service standards.

Location: 5300 Willow Creek DR SW Cedar Rapids IA 52404

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8AM - 5PM

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Capacity Management: Manage and optimize resource capacity within a specific customer organization by providing on-site support
  • Load Assignment: Assign third-party carrier capacity on designated loads using CRST’s TMS and other platforms such as load boards and digital freight matching
  • Load Communication: Proactively communicate with CRST drivers or third-party carriers on all loads shipping, delivering or in transit and update TMS to reflect service status
  • Cost Documentation: Ensure all accessorial charges and additional carrier costs are documented in TMS upon delivery to prevent accounting delays
  • Escalation Support: Assist the customer in assigning capacity for incoming loads and collaborate on resolving escalated issues
  • Freight Documentation: Build bills of lading and identify freight solutions for the customer
  • Safety Monitoring: Monitor, analyze and communicate the safety performance of all on-site teams and departments
  • Market Awareness: Stay informed on market trends and carrier costs through regular review of industry sources
  • Carrier Relationship Management: Develop and manage relationships with a broad range of carrier stakeholders including drivers, dispatchers and owners
  • Operational Support: Perform other operational and safety-related tasks as assigned
  • Customer Collaboration: Work with customer service to align with customer and shipping/receiving location needs and assign appropriate capacity accordingly
  • Accountability and Reliability: Maintain regular and reliable attendance while performing other duties as assigned to support team and business needs

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: A two-year degree or applicable work experience with demonstrated success
