KBR is seeking an Acquisition Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Simulator Division (AFLCMC/WNS) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The successful candidate will provide expert-level logistics and acquisition lifecycle support for U.S. Air Force simulator programs, focusing on sustainment, readiness, and lifecycle planning for aircrew and maintenance training systems.This role requires deep expertise in DoD acquisition logistics, with the ability to integrate sustainment considerations from program inception through fielding and long-term support. Candidates must reside in or be located in the Wright-Patterson AFB area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide acquisition logistics expertise across the full program lifecycle, including requirements development, system design, fielding, and sustainment.
- Develop and implement product support strategies for simulator systems supporting aircrew and maintenance training.
- Plan, analyze, and manage logistics elements including maintenance planning, supply support, support equipment, technical data, and training.
- Support Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP) development, updates, and execution.
- Advise program leadership on sustainment considerations to optimize system readiness and affordability.
- Ensure integration of logistics requirements into acquisition planning, program baselines, and system development activities.
- Coordinate with stakeholders across government, contractors, and sustainment organizations to ensure effective logistics support.
- Analyze and track sustainment metrics, including reliability, maintainability, availability, and cost drivers.
- Support provisioning, spares planning, and supply chain management activities.
- Identify logistics risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure resolution.
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and technical reviews to ensure logistics considerations are addressed.
- Ensure compliance with DoD, Air Force, and AFLCMC logistics and acquisition policies and guidance.

  • Location: Hybrid, Dayton, OH
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal <20%

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in DoD acquisition logistics or product support.
- Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain).
- Demonstrated experience supporting aircraft, simulator systems, or training-related programs.
- Strong knowledge of DoD acquisition framework (DoDI 5000 series) and product support elements (IPS elements).
- Experience developing and managing Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSPs).
- Expertise in sustainment planning, reliability and maintainability analysis, and lifecycle cost management.
- Experience supporting logistics requirements across all phases of acquisition (requirements through sustainment).
- Familiarity with provisioning, supply support, and technical data management.
- Experience tracking and analyzing sustainment metrics (e.g., availability, reliability, cost).
- Ability to identify and mitigate logistics risks and issues.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including briefing senior leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Must reside in or be willing to work in the Wright-Patterson AFB, OH area.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Logistics, Engineering, or related discipline.
- DAWIA certification in Life Cycle Logistics.
- Experience supporting AFLCMC or Wright-Patterson AFB programs.
- Familiarity with modeling and simulation (M&S) or training systems.
- Experience with digital engineering or data-driven sustainment approaches.
- Experience supporting depot-level maintenance or sustainment organizations.
- Knowledge in writing and responding to Federal and DoD Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Previous government contracting experience highly desired.
