We are looking for a Logistics Analyst to support transportation planning and supply chain operations for a manufacturing environment in Parsippany, New Jersey. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical thinking with practical knowledge of freight movement, load planning, and cross-functional coordination. The role will focus on improving transportation execution, resolving operational issues, and helping teams make informed logistics decisions through accurate data analysis and clear communication.
Responsibilities:
• Build and optimize transportation loads to improve service performance, equipment utilization, and overall shipping efficiency.
• Analyze freight activity, shipment patterns, and planning data to identify trends and recommend operational improvements.
• Coordinate with internal teams, carriers, and distribution partners to ensure timely movement of materials and finished goods.
• Use transportation management systems and spreadsheet-based tools to plan shipments, track execution, and maintain accurate logistics records.
• Investigate delivery exceptions, capacity constraints, and routing issues, then work collaboratively to resolve them quickly.
• Prepare reports and dashboards that support decision-making related to transportation cost, service levels, and network performance.
• Contribute to process improvement efforts involving logistics systems, workflows, or planning methods when business needs require changes.
• Provide guidance and day-to-day support to team members by promoting accountability, communication, and effective problem-solving practices.• Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
