The Leonardo DRS Land Systems business is a recognized leader in the design and integration of complex technologies into new and legacy systems and platforms for global military and commercial customers. We are a 5 year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area.  

Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Director of Engineering - Logistics.  This is a product support logistics role, and while the selected candidate and their organization will work with supply chain this is not a supply chain function.  This position is based out of our Bridgeton, MO facility and will have the option to work an in person or hybrid schedule.  Candidates will be responsible for leading and managing the Logistics department which consists of, Integrated Logistics Support Managers, Logistics Engineers, Technical Writers, Training Developers and Instructors and Field Service Representatives.  Candidate must also manage the quality, cost, and schedule of work, including Requests for Proposal (RFPs); technical and budget estimate responses for new programs; sustainment activities; delivery of logistics support and required deliverables for developmental and in-production programs; and post-production and retirement support for long-running programs at Leonardo DRS.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the logistics department to include Integrated Logistics Support Managers, Logistics Engineers, Technical Writers, Training Developers and Instructors and Field Service Representatives
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and organizational change that are of benefit to the team, customer and company
  • Lead the implementation of organizational change
  • Orchestrate the development and training of the team by job family and of each individual based on their needs
  • Support the customer and our internal program needs for Logistics support
  • Involved with the analysis of projects/contracts to determine logistics requirements
  • Analyze, organize, plan and administer various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, or maintenance/repair activities
  • Coordinate the creation, development, design, and improvement of divisional products in conformance with established programs and objectives
  • Provide engineering advice and assistance to other departments as required
  • Responsible for formulating and recommending engineering policies and technical work assignments in accordance with project and company objectives
  • Working with the Technical Director, Logistics, advise appropriate personnel of the latest technical and engineering developments
  • Manage budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments and departments, as appropriate
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
  • Participate in preparation of proposals
  • Direct the work of others as assigned
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
Qualifications
  • Bachelors' degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • Masters degree is a plus
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Defense acquisition logistics leadership experience managing a team including direct reports tasked with delivering Mil-Spec compliant products and services
  • Specific experience with leading and managing Logistics Engineering, Logistics Support Analysis, Provisioning, Technical Publications, Training Development and Instruction and Field Service          

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

The salary range for this position is $116,811.00/year- $157,695.00/year for the state of Illinois.  This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
