Position Summary:

The Procurement Expeditor & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the timely acquisition, movement, and delivery of materials, equipment, and supplies for both

internal operations and external customers. This role coordinates closely with purchasing, warehouse, sales, and vendors to maintain efficient supply flow, minimize delays, and uphold customer satisfaction in a fast-paced welding and steel supply environment.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Expediting

· Monitor purchase orders from issuance through delivery to ensure on-time fulfillment

· Expedite orders with vendors to meet project timelines and customer requirements

· Maintain consistent communication with suppliers regarding order status, delays, and changes

· Identify and resolve supply chain issues proactively to prevent disruptions

· Verify order accuracy, including quantities, specifications, and delivery commitments

· Support sourcing efforts by identifying alternative suppliers when necessary

Logistics & Transportation Coordination

· Plan, schedule, and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments (truck, LTL, courier, etc.)

· Optimize routing and delivery schedules for cost-efficiency and timeliness

· Coordinate delivery logistics for both internal jobs and external customer orders

· Track shipments in real time and provide status updates to stakeholders

· Ensure proper documentation for shipments (BOLs, packing slips, manifests, etc.)

· Work with freight carriers to resolve delivery issues, damages, or discrepancies

Inventory & Warehouse Coordination

· Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure accurate receiving and staging of materials

· Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock shortages or overages

· Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives

· Ensure materials are available and delivered to production or customer locations when needed

Customer & Internal Support

· Serve as a liaison between sales, operations, and suppliers for order fulfillment issues

· Provide timely updates to internal teams and customers regarding delivery status

· Support customer orders requiring special handling, rush delivery, or coordination

· Assist with order prioritization based on operational and customer needs

Compliance & Documentation

· Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and transportation regulations

· Maintain accurate procurement and logistics records in ERP systems

· Track key metrics such as on-time delivery, vendor performance, and freight costs

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

· 2–5 years of experience in procurement, logistics, supply chain, or related field

· Experience in industrial supply, welding, or steel industry preferred

· Strong knowledge of shipping methods, freight coordination, and supply chain processes
