Michigan Broadband Services is seeking an Inventory Specialist to join our team in Carney, Michigan. This position reports directly to the Director of Supply Chain and Inventory Management and is responsible for overseeing the ordering, storage, tracking, and distribution of the companys equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Request quotes from vendors for equipment or materials required to fulfill certain tasks or projects as requested
  • Enter purchase order requisitions for approved quotes utilizing our in-house software system
  • Receive and process incoming equipment and materials into inventory
  • Issue equipment and materials as needed
  • Use the companys accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances of our current inventory
  • Keep detailed records of equipment placed and material usage
  • Utilize our billing software to enter received inventory into the system and track the outgoing inventory
  • Strive to improve the use of the company software system to its fullest potential, including implementing the use of MACC Mobile by our technicians
  • Hours of work are primarily 8:00 am 4:30 pm CT Monday through Friday, however; these may be adjusted as needed for the good of the company

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate or bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Accounting, or a related field
  • 1-3 years experience in warehousing, logistics, or inventory control
  • Basic math skills for calculating percentages, volume, weights, and discrepancies

Physical Requirements

  • This role is physically demanding and usually requires standing, walking, and kneeling
  • Must be able to life and carry heavy objects; typically, 30 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in varying, sometimes non-climate-controlled environments
