Job description

Overview
The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for data collection, inventory analysis, and implementation of effective inventory control procedures. The incumbent ensures a smooth and consistent operation so that parts and supplies are able to be located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy customer requirements.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)
  • Supervise and train inventory staff, setting clear expectations and providing guidance on inventory management practices
  • Perform regular inventory audits to verify stock accuracy and identify discrepancies, implementing corrective actions as needed (Daily/Monthly/Yearly)
  • Supervise warehouse Team Members by consistently communicating expectations, performance and any changes to operating procedures
  • Develop and enforce inventory control policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce losses
  • Coach, counsel and discipline warehouse Team Members
  • Lead inventory team to investigate and resolve OS&D items
  • Work alongside warehouse and management team to improve operational procedures
  • Completing daily/monthly reports to management and/or HQ reporting inventory KPIs, procedures, and improvements.
  • Supports company values and goals to establish a world class organization
  • Prompt, regular, predictable attendance
  • Physical presence at work during all scheduled work hours
  • Overtime and weekend work as required
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)
Required Education & Experience:
  • 5 years' experience in Warehouse/Logistics environment
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Good communication, analytical, and technical skills
  • Ability to make good decisions and take decisive action in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong time management skills

Preferred Education & Experience:
  • 5 years' of experience in an automotive environment
  • 5 years' experience in an inventory related role
  • Knowledge of automotive distribution, warehousing, JIT (Just-in-Time) 5'S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) Team building, and Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field

Working Conditions:
  • 50% Office; 50% Floor
  • 10% Domestic/ International Travel
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to operate various warehouse equipment such as forklift, high reach, pallet jack, skid wrapper, and PDA Scanner
