Job Description: Dispatcher

Location: 9370 Madison Blvd Madison, AL

Department: Operations Job Status: Full-Time Reports to: Shift Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

The Dispatcher oversees and coordinates the activities of the drivers by updating websites and monitoring the timeliness of the routes. This role will successfully and professionally communicate with suppliers, customers, drivers, Internal departments, and terminal locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Track and trace drivers, tractors and shipments for on time delivery.
  • Effectively manage drivers using current company policies and procedures.
  • Dispatch drivers to and from facility while managing driver routes.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, internal and external customers.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED required.

EXPERIENCE:

Prior dispatch, route management and dispatching experience is a plus. Working knowledge in logistics and manufacturing is preferred. The ideal candidate will be organized, responsible and dependable.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook email required. Knowledge of TMW software is a plus. Must have the ability to learn new programs as necessary.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Positive attitude.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to work some weekend shifts when requested by our customer.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Problem solving.

This is an on-site position.
