Job description

Rover Operator - St Helens Tree Farm

Weyerhaeuser's St. Helens Tree Farm operation based out of Castle Rock, WA, has an opening for a Rover Equipment Operator. We are seeking individuals who desire to work safely in a market-focused logging environment. This is a full-time hourly position. Hourly employees are represented by the IAM-AW Union. Benefits (in accordance with the current labor agreement) include medical, dental, vision, 401k, vacation, and holidays. Current rate of pay is $39.18 per hour. The successful candidate must be competent/qualified in the following: experience with and ability to fulfill the responsibilities of shovel logger, loader, processor operator, and skidder as required. Flexibility in the operation of different logging equipment throughout the week to meet business/operational needs. Competent operation of skidder and shovel logging under various slopes and soil conditions to meet safety, environmental, and production goals. Able to fulfill all processing responsibilities including the ability to manufacture and sort stems to the required standards, implement new operating software, quickly respond to different bucking directions as markets change. Load trucks to meet Weyerhaeuser's load standards and be able to work with loading software to create load tickets and daily load planning. Collaborate as production team member, complete all required record keeping, and perform routine maintenance.

2 years' experience operating equipment in a logging environment. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. Demonstrated commitment to safety. Demonstrated ability to meet the technical and physical demands of the position. Able to walk, stand and work in rough terrain on a continuous basis. Ability to lift/carry up to 40-50 lbs intermittently; this includes reaching/lifting/pulling to attach devices weighing up to 40 lbs. to logs, as well as lifting/carrying tools weighing up to approximately 40 lbs. up/down hills. This position is designated by WY as a safety-sensitive position. Please be advised that due to the designation of this position as safety-sensitive, you will be subject to pre-employment testing for cannabis and its metabolites.
